It's cozy and it feels like home. There're 2 options of shower/bathing, in room and the shared one. Breakfast was amazing. Everything was delicious that we wanted more.

Asa-san is a very kind and good host, and the guesthouse is very welcoming and clean. The living space invites for conversations, and I have met interesting people during my stay! Aizu-Wakamatsu is a city that grew on me, with a lot of interesting architecture. The gardens (Oyakuen) are beautiful and well worth a visit. The recommendations from the owner were spot on: the ramen close to the house being an incredible place for breakfast or lunch (Uende Yamaga), the onsen/sento is one of the better ones I've visited (Fujinoyu), and the local specialities at Mitsutaya we're great. All in all a 100% recommended spot to spend a couple of nights - I would choose this place over a hotel any day.
