I reckon this might be the best hostel in the world. Fantastic helpful staff. I lost our passports, rail passes and money and the hostel guy rang around everywhere we had been and found them and drove me half an hour away and back to pick them up! Amazing. The facilities are lovely, well set up kitchen and so clean. The beds are super comfortable and have a power point and locker in the cubicle. A short walk to town.

Tsukechi Bachanchi - Vacation STAY 89810v, hotel in Nakatsugawa

Situated 28 km from Gero Station, Tsukechi Bachanchi - Vacation STAY 89810v features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

A very unique Grandma cafe stay! We didn't see the grandma, and was greeted by younger staff. Staff took time to explain the stay here and very friendly. It's nestled in a very tranquil village. We were very glad to have the room facing the paddy fields and mountains. At night can even hear insects and the sound of nature. Morning is very beautiful. It's actually very therapeutic staying here. We came in summer so it's very hot. Thankfully the fans help to cool down the place. Opening the windows is good and the insect screens thankfully helped keep out insects. Old looking place but I must say very clean!! It's a one of a kind experience staying in a village . Good for those looking for a stay near the tsukechi area.

Outstanding property which exceeded our expectations in all fronts. Peaceful, clean and such a great example of ryokan hospitality in rural Japan. Toki is an exceptional host who warmed our hearts with friendly and loving care - using google translate we had alot of laughs. You are a very special person Toki and definitely a highlight of our trip. Toki was very helpful with organising things with and for us and Iwamura is a beautiful quiet town with no westerners. Extremely friendly owner, helped me with directions for planning my day there. I ended up going to see the peach blossoms, hiking up a beautiful hill and finishing my day off at an onsen. So much interactivity from the owner, who would message me through the day when I got lost. Great location, and free parking available (tell them in advance). Host let me use the facilities which was a great help. Very clean and a nice house.

Lots of space, quiet area, nice view of mount Ena. Great host! He went at great lenghts to help us book a restaurant in town on a busy evening. And helped us again, when train troubles had us delayed. Again, thank you so much. We can also highly recommend the restaurant reseveration.

The guesthouse is a beautiful 110 year old traditional wooden structure. The futon was very comfortable, all the facilities were great, and the room was spotless. Assi was a great host. I'd recommend Guesthouse Shigi to anyone visiting the Kiso Valley!

Our host Keiko met our bus in the village and drove us to the guest house. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. The guest house was very quiet & comfortable, Keiko super welcoming and generous. She handed us a bear bell when we set off for our walk on the Nakesendo trail to Tsumago-juku and had prepared a hot soaker bath with citrus for our return. Delightful!

Beautiful old Japanese guesthouse in the middle of magome. The welcome was great. The host drove us to a restaurant as the village was quiet because of the holiday period. Japanese breakfast served when we asked in the morning.

Simple but well-designed guesthouse, with helpful host. Magome is very quiet at night and she made sure that guests knew which restaurants would be open.

    * Truly exceptional host. Kind, genuine and made our stay unforgettable. Highlights were his excellent recommendations and going above and beyond to help us. * Amazing decor and ambiance. It truly felt like we got to experience what it was like living in Japan in the first half of the 1900s. Cannot recommend this Guesthouse for the vibe and interior enough. * Great location if you would like to experience a more local and authentic side of Japan.

Everything in the Guesthouse is nicely designed, bathrooms are quite big, well equipped. Room with tatami is perfect size for 2 people (with suitcases open. Free granola, tea and cafe are really nice.

Such a cool little guesthouse in the heart of picturesque Magome. Things started well with a welcome lift from the bus station by the welcoming owners who also booked us a local restaurant for the evening. The small guesthouse is stylish with free tea/coffee available and cereal for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great view from our room. Lovely spot and great hosts.

We had a very pleasant stay at Guest house Motomiya. The owners were very friendly and helpful and their house is lovely, in the charming countryside on the old Nakasendo. The room was very nice and the beds confortable. And last but not least, the diner was delicious, made of several dishes each of them tastier than the other. Everything was perfect and we highly recommend Motomiya guesthouse !
