A very comfortable and well appointed cottage, small but with everything I needed. The bed was very comfy, the shower excellent and the kitchen very clean and well equipped. Gilwern itself seemed friendly, fairly quiet in the evening but with a pub and small supermarket within very easy walking distance..There is easy access to the Heads of Valley road making it a great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. As a lone traveller, I loved it.

Mike was a great host. The Guest House is really nicely decorated and the room felt as though it had been recently modernised. Toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch. There was enough space to park the car alongside the house and it was only a 15-20 min walk into Abergavenny.
