The hotel was very family friendly.
Second time staying here and couldn't be happier. The lodge is a home from home, very spacious but cosy which was ideal on the very rainy days during our stay. Stayed with our toddler and can't fault it for a family holiday. Will definitely be back in the future.
Nice hotel with plenty of facilities for everyone in the family (pool, tennis, gym, badminton, toddler area, putting green.. ). We stayed in the castle itself, it was comfortable. The room is a bit old style, which I guess is to match with the castle theme but the bathroom are modern. They also have villas where families can stay. The pool is heated and they have saunas in men and women changing rooms. The food in the bistro was nice and not too pricey for a hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
Positives - peaceful and pretty in woodland setting but only a 5-10 min drive to the centre. - Very clean and nice additional touches like hotel towels, toiletries wash machine tabs etc - New comfy beds/ bedroom carpets. - Functional kitchen with plenty of cupboard contents. - Ample parking and lovely garden area ( although not secure for dog or small children on their own), but exciting to explore.
Breakfast was very good. The staff were attentive and very polite. The bathrobes and towels were fluffy. The gym was fantastically equipped and a a nice space overall. Despite a lot of families with small children staying in the hotel, our corridor was very quiet. The view from our room was spectacular. We came for peace and quiet in pleasant surroundings and we definitely got our wish.
The place was perfect for a family of 4. Nice and cozy, very clean, well equipped and super comfy beds. Just a short walk into Anstruther but nice and quiet estate too. It is an upstairs flat so was nice to have everything on the one level for small children.
We absolutely loved our stay! The cottage looked even better than in the pictures. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome basket was a lovely touch! There already was a baby gate mounted and a high chair and travel cot provided, which we really appreciated. Even children's cutlery! Evelyn was a lovely host and there is plenty of information about the surroundings - including the art work on the walls.
I was in the original building, which was the home of one of the Nairn families in the 1930's. (My mother used to work in the family home when I was a child!) It had olde worlde charm, beautiful old decor, carpets, staircases and bay windows overlooking the grounds. The deer even visited at breakfast time.
we stayed for 2 nights and it was perfect for a family with kids. pub right next to hotel with children’s play area. and then all the other restaurants/cinema in walking distance. perfect
