Dom Dinis Marvão, hotel in Marvão

Located within the walls of the Marvão Castle, at the top of the high village of Marvão, Dom Dinis Marvão features a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi® and panoramic views of the countryside below.

Awesome location in fantastic wee walled town perched on top of a rocky hill. We loved that it was an old building but with modern facilities. Clean, tidy, friendly staff, comfy bed, nice shower and bonus of the spa which could be booked for privacy. Great to have breakfast included. We went at a quieter time and I'm pretty sure we got a free upgrade as our room had a balcony and view.

El-Rei Dom Manuel Hotel, hotel in Marvão

Ideally located in the highest village in Portugal, El Rei Dom Manuel Hotel is housed in a historic building, its rooms offer breathtaking and stunning views over the landscapes of Portugal and Spain....

Breakfast was very good: hot meal, coffee, juices and fresh bread. I’m not a big eater though, so can’t vouch for those fans of continental style. Location couldn’t be better, complete immersive experience in the medieval times. Room was spacious and quiet, with cabinets full of warm blankets and pillows. Bathroom is clean, all essentials were there. Sr. Manuel is courteous and accommodating. We felt welcomed in the hotel.

Quinta do Barrieiro - Art Selection by Maria Leal da Costa, hotel in Marvão

Surrounded by the natural scenery of Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, Quinta do Barrieiro - Art Selection by Maria Leal da Costa offers typical architecture combined with original artwork.

Beautifully scenic, tranquil location. We stayed in the Loft, which included a hot tub on the balcony overlooking lovely rolling hills. The Loft was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our host, João, was very friendly, accommodating and helpful in recommendating restaurants and local destinations. He delivered a continental breakfast to our room the next morning at a prearranged time. We enjoyed walking around the extensive grounds and seeing the sculptures throughout the property.

Casa do Vale, hotel in Marvão

Located within 8 km of Roman City of Ammaia and 10 km of Portalegre Castle, Casa do Vale features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Marvão.

We arrived at Casa do Vale for one night, mainly to see the forts in the nearby town. This is a rural and isolated accommodation complex, very quiet, clean and well-kept, the owner of the property helped us a lot to find the place, the rooms were beautiful and well-decorated. The complex has a pool, but it was too cold to go in and the valley where the complex is located is simply picturesque and stunning. warmly recommended.

We stayed in the 3-bed house with our older children. We loved the secluded terrace and had barbecue most nights. Breakfast was great, we especially loved the fresh bread, cake and fresh orange juice. The pool was divine and the sunsets stunning.

A beautiful little cottage tucked away in the medieval village of Marvao. There's a castle right next door and the village itself is fun to wander around in. The owner of the hotel was friendly and gracious, and the room was perfect. It felt like I was staying in a distant relative's home and not a hotel. Also, the breakfast was incredible. Definitely sign up for breakfast.

A hidden gem in a beautiful mountain village. We booked this last minute as a stopover for one night and regretted not staying longer. A small, cozy, family run hotel. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. The food was delicious and the ambience was very relaxing. You cant go wrong with this lovely hotel.
