Location is fantastic for visiting the castle, and the views from the top room with private balcony were amazing!?The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The breakfast is fresh and delicious! This was our second visit, and would return if we were in the area.

João and the staff couldn't be nicer. João naves us several tips about the region. The "picnic" breakfast was a nice experience. if you're looking for a quiet environment, surrounded with lots of art, Quinta do Barrieiro is a great choice.

We arrived at Casa do Vale for one night, mainly to see the forts in the nearby town. This is a rural and isolated accommodation complex, very quiet, clean and well-kept, the owner of the property helped us a lot to find the place, the rooms were beautiful and well-decorated. The complex has a pool, but it was too cold to go in and the valley where the complex is located is simply picturesque and stunning. warmly recommended.

excellent breakfast, creamy fluffy eggs! delicious watermelon yoghurt! great pastries!
Marvao Castle is in one sense quite primitive - do not forget that it was built approx 875-900 AD as a defence against the emirs of Cordoba. In another sense, it is one of the greatest castles I have ever seen...
Marvao is a jewel... and so is the Pousada de Marvao

We like a lot the hosts but the facilities (let's say the rooms itself) were very poor and also the toilets were very small. The pool was amazing! Also there was a shared kitchen, that was a good surprise!
As families grow in size, so too do the needs of a family holiday. That’s why family hotels are set up to cater for all ages, from toddlers and kids to teens and adults. Typically, you can expect restaurants with kids’ menus, games rooms, fitness centres and a pool area where children can play and parents can relax.
We stayed in the 3-bed house with our older children. We loved the secluded terrace and had barbecue most nights. Breakfast was great, we especially loved the fresh bread, cake and fresh orange juice. The pool was divine and the sunsets stunning.
Location +view... the core is man,we want a bed but got a home...feel so touching and warm..right time do the right thing, with the owner treats us like a family...thanks for everything
This was the most fantastic place to stay. The ambiance, the staff, and the comforts that were provided would be hard to match. This would be described as an omgoodness place to stay!
A beautiful little cottage tucked away in the medieval village of Marvao. There's a castle right next door and the village itself is fun to wander around in. The owner of the hotel was friendly and gracious, and the room was perfect. It felt like I was staying in a distant relative's home and not a hotel. Also, the breakfast was incredible. Definitely sign up for breakfast.
A hidden gem in a beautiful mountain village. We booked this last minute as a stopover for one night and regretted not staying longer. A small, cozy, family run hotel. The staff were really helpful and pleasant. The food was delicious and the ambience was very relaxing. You cant go wrong with this lovely hotel.
Traditional comfortable family house, very warm welcome, fantastic breakfast with home made cake and jam, good parking, once through the narrow streets
First and most important - The host was super friendly and gave me the best welcome I could hope for
Even though we had a language barrier, We understood each other and she took care of me like I was her child
The breakfast was very generous, the room was clean and the environment was beautiful
I didn't use the pool cause the weather was a little cold for me but it looked fun and clean as well
I will definitely consider coming back again, I recommend it!
