The hosts, Mr. Manolis and Mrs. Despoina is an excellent couple, 10 OUT OF 10. They were both hospitable, friendly, they treated us with fresh fruits upon our arrival. They also had a few kids toys for our babies. Everything was excellent, beyond our expectations.

Kamihis is in a beautiful farmhouse in an olive and carob tree farm, lovely and calm and secluded. They’ve really thought about how to make the stay comfortable - sun lounger chairs, an outdoor dining table with shades to block out the sun, lovely bedding. Michalis shows you how to work everything when you arrive - oil lamps, candles, different types of taps. The breakfast is amazing and can feed you for lunch too, and there’s a fridge and small kitchen space so you can pack things away. We didn’t have a car so just stayed on the farm and really relaxed reading our books in the sun all day. We also did the farm tour which is good fun. Michalis gave us a lift into town one evening where there is a really nice restaurant where you get a set menu. We then walked back (it’s uphill into town and downhill on the way back!) which took about 30mins. Wouldn’t want to do it in the pitch black but it was fine at sunset. The little pool at the front of the house is lovely for cooling down in.

The property is situated on a hill with a stunning view of the sea and the mountains, conceived as a small village with several houses made of stone and a central courtyard with a swimming pool. The apartment we occupied was nice and clean with all the needed utensils to cook. The host was very nice in guiding us to the next village to buy groceries, and in indicating a very good fish restaurant on the beach (Taverna Aristodimos). Festos palace is 15 minutes away (11 Km) and that was the principal reason we made the trip (it is better to go in the afternoon, but not to late, in lack of visitors they close earlier). A few kilometers away is the Kalamaki beach, by strong winds impossible to swim because there are some stones and you can get hurt.
The stone-built Efrosini country villa-Anesis family is located in Kamilari. The air-conditioned accommodation is 2.3 km from Phaistos and 3 km from Komos, as well as 65 km from Heraklio Town.

Perfect location 200 metres from centre of town and short driving distance to archaeogical site of Phaistos and Matala.
Host were very kind and met us on arrival. Free Parking right out front. Great WIFI. Good towels. Good bedding. Good hair products, soap and hair dryer. Supplied us with a coffee/tea station to make and even a small cake. Great bed and mattress. Quiet at night. VERY clean including the bathroom. The hosts were very helpful and kind. They also suggested the local tavernas for dinner which we did and it was great. Be sure to check out their small but very interesting and good museum. Again, we suggest staying here as it is 10/10 and close to things but you get a taste of a small village.

Good location within walking distance of the centre of the town. So welcoming with little gifts of drinks etc. I was made to feel at home straight away. Simple to leave the town so as to sight see. Plenty of restaurants and take-aways, all of whom were very friendly towards me. With a well equipped kitchen and two double bedrooms, this should be sufficient for most families needs.
