Wonderful room. Arrived late and key was left for me in lock box. Left early morning so I’m disappointed that I did not get a chance to have breakfast.

Anthony was great - friendly and really helpful. This is a great base for exploring the Peak District. The apartment had everything we needed. The grounds are fantastic. Perfect place for families with children and a dog. We will definitely be coming back.

We stayed in the flat as a family. It is excellent. Very comfortable and with lovely views. Reception staff very helpful. Child friendly. Superb location. Interesting history. I score it 9/10 because of the little things that let it down, such as a broken lock on the bathroom door and the breakfast chef not being able to cook porridge despite two attempts. I would recommend and will stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised with the facilities. Great for families with young children. Changing mat, nappies, kids toys as well family games included, which we were not expecting. Clean and tidy with towels provided too. Good communication with housekeeper before and during stay. Would definitely book again.

We went with our daughter and her family and we’re given two rooms in the house with our own front door. The landing between the rooms was just for our use so the children could pop along to us easily. Breakfast was excellent. A wide choice, beautifully cooked and more than we could eat. Frequent top ups of coffee. Excellent shower in then suite. Well placed for a short walk into Buxton.

Clean and welcoming cottage which was great for our short stay (2 adults, 2 children). Convenient car parking space opposite the cottage. Small children's play area nearby. Loved seeing the horses and chickens next door and meeting the local dogs and cats. Kids also enjoyed watching the fish in the small pond. Excellent communications from owners. Friendly and helpful.

The room we had was a big family room, plenty of space with a separate child's room. The breakfast was very nice, although 2 sausages and 2 slices of bacon would have been better than just one of each.

This place is not child friendly. We were unable to have the fire on as it has no surround and our toddler was not able to walk around when on. There was no carbon monoxide alarm which made us anxious to sleep there. We requested a baby cot which was advertised but it was more like a pet carrier where you zipped your baby inside it. We booked three nights but left after two as it was just not relaxing or fun.

The family room was very spacious with a huge bathroom. Very comfortable for our family of 4 (kids aged 11 and 14). The swimming pool was good,an added cost of £4 for an adult but could swim more than once per day for that price. Location was perfect.

We felt welcomed since the moment we stepped through the door. Gentlemen at reception even offered to take our bags up. Family friendly - we didn't need a cot but they took into consideration we travelled with a toddler and a cot was waiting for us in the room without asking. Same with breakfast, our daughter was asked for her choices which hardly ever happen in othe hotels. Central location is a big plus as well.
