The Chateau de Saint Paterne is an absolutely gorgeous manor house just outside of Alencon. The host was warm and welcoming, and allowed us to stay in a ground floor suite because I have some difficulty walking. This place was a feast for the eyes, beautifully decorated with objets d'art from many centuries. The dinner was splendid, due to the lovely candle lit dining room, the straightforward, perfectly prepared meal and the convivial atmosphere. This was the highlight our our 10-day trip and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to stay there.
