We loved the Broadway musicals (you can get same-day half-price tickets after 14:00 at the TKTS booth in Times Square), the Ground Zero memorial museum, historical locations: Ellis Island, Central Park.
The subway is easy to use and you just pay by tapping your credit card at the entrance gate.
Beware: Official-looking tourist touts around South Ferry terminals for Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. They fool you into thinking that visiting the sights is difficult/fully booked and you should use their (expensive) offers of a bus/boat trip. So instead of paying about $25 per person, you pay between $45/$60. Just go to the official Parks terminal!

We stayed overnight for a concert at Madison Square Garden.
We stayed overnight for a concert at Madison Square Garden. The hotel was walking distance-which was great. The neighborhood felt safe enough to walk through. We ate at Mustang Harry's pub. It was a great meal for a good price, It is also walking distance. As I said in my hotel review, the hotel was adequate- room was comfortable, just the strong bleach smell was a drawback and for anyone chemically sensitive,,it might be a deal breaker

So many iconic places to visit.
So many iconic places to visit. A highlight was the 9/11 memorial and museum, the day after the anniversary, very poignant.
The city pass was great, we went to 5 attractions, including a sightseeing boat tour.
It is a very busy city, with the stench of cannabis and traffic fumes across most of it.
We booked everything apart from the cinema in advance, which helped make the most of our 5 days. We could have stayed longer at MOMA, but had run out of days.

New York City can be whatever you want it to be.
New York City can be whatever you want it to be. You can choose quiet spots, hidden parks, the hustle and bustle of Times Square, vintage shops or luxury boutiques, fancy restaurants, or hidden gems. The city is whatever you make of it, and that’s what makes it perfect.

We enjoyed the attractions we chose very much; Broadway shows, "The Great Gatsby, " and " Back to the Future" (incredible), The Empire state bldg, American museum of natural history (huge, so we couldn't see everything), 911 memorial (amazing memorial site (we did a tour and museum viewing through Trip advisor- guide was Dave).
We really enjoyed just being able to walk out our hotel entrance in Times Square and walk to restaurants, shops any time of day or night!
We loved Joe's Pizza, Bagel and Sandwich, Friedman's restaurant for breakfast, Junior's and the breakfast at our hotel, Motto by Hilton.
We loved seeing Bryant and Central Park (Strawberry Fields location).
Great stay!
Perfect location for exploring New York, right off 5th avenue for your shopping, 2 min walk from nearest subway, 5 min walk to Times Square, plenty of food and drink places around and 10min walk to Grand Central to get to the airport.
Staff friendly, good free WiFi, fast lift, microwave and fridge in room, Ice & water machine on our floor, cold air con, comfy bed, view on empire state from our room! My only issues are me being picky for the price I paid if it was a bit cheaper then I would have been incredibly happy
The location is great, about 20 minute walk from Times Square. Five-ten minutes walk to subway station. Incredibly comfortable bed, clean room, and the staff very nice and friendly.
Hotel is on the more expensive side, but still one of the cheapest options in Manhattan.
Location of the hotel is Superb - it's really close to the Times Square and all other main Manhattan locations. Also, there is a rooftop bar, where you can enjoy the NYC evening view. We also got 2 free drinks at the lobby bar, which was a nice addition.
The best thing with the hotel was its location. It was perfect, the hotel is close by just walking to most of the things that you need to see in Manhattan, also it was just 2 minutes far by walk from Times Square, and it was a safe area.
The location was nice: near Central Park and Times Square.
Also, a few subway stations at walking distance.
The hotel was a good starting point for visiting Manhattan overall.
