Lovely hotel friendly staff comfortable clean rooms.
The negative is I booked because I like the westin hotels I have stayed at before but being in LA I was really looking forward to relaxing by the pool. Upon check in I was told the pool had been closed for 5 days and is open again Monday because they resurfaced the pool deck. There was nothing when I booked and no message from anywhere advising of this in which case I would have booked a different hotel for this trip. Overall a nice place to stay just wish I was told of the pool closure

The rooms were very clean, spacious, with excellent facilities, well in worth of the money. The staff were really friendly, and gave us proper directions when we needed it. The hotel is also in a decent location, reachable by even public transport.

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where many movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the ending point of fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to glimpse the canals that earned the area its name.
Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.
And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalise celebrities of past and present. Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Over the hill is Universal Studios, offering behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.
Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

Downtown LA is beyond amazing.
The Griffith Observatory exceed our expectations.
The Brear Tar Pits and Hollywood sign was the best part of the day tour.

The family were disappointed with LA, especially the Hollywood strip on the boulevard. Very unclean, full of unsafe individuals, lots of homelessness and it felt very unsafe, especially at night. Nothing like it portrayed on the TV and when the stars get their names printed on the strip. The best part of our stay was visiting Universal studios, which made up for the shock to the system.

Lots of issues with the apartment Firstly it was a completely different address.Very old building and old unit it needs renovations.
The bed was very comfortable The oven is old and i wouldn't use it as is the toaster looked so old it's dangerous. No kettle provided .
The apartment is really noisy on the main road and all during night you hear the traffic.I didn't feel safe as lots of rough people living permanently in the units .
The broken blinds gave us no privacy from the front street Aircon very old and strange smell throughout the apartment
Good points its spacious and close to Hollywood boulevard.

Los Angeles is enormous but pretty easy to navigate.
Los Angeles is enormous but pretty easy to navigate. Although traffic is a given, surprisingly you can get most anyplace in 30 minutes with the help of GPS. Visited Noho, Hollywood, Burbank, downtown LA, and West Hollywood areas this time. Everyone was super friendly and I felt safe in most areas.

We were a bit shocked at first, having chosen Downtown LA as our base, at just how much poverty there is, with so many homeless people on the streets, clearly in desperate situations. We genuinely hope these people are helped to find homes and new lives. Then we discovered other parts of the city and realised how diverse it is! A word of warning - this place is HUGE!! We used public transport which is good and we felt very safe. Recommend Huntington Gardens and Paramount Studios Tour. Book tickets in advance for everything!

There is a ton to do in LA!
There is a ton to do in LA! Coming from the east coast, I thought I would hate the spread out nature and driving culture, but the food is second to none, and there are so many little worlds to explore. Be sure to see different neighborhoods and discover some of the great bits of the built environment, like the art deco design of griffith or echo park, the stairways of silver lake, or the canals in venice. Have a street taco at 10 PM. LA is 100 cities in 1. Don't hesitate to come if you're not into theme parks, shopping, or hollywood. There's so much more.

Loved the location, super close to alot of high-end restaraunts and great overall vibe at the hotel and very clean. Great point for checking our all the touristy things on and near Hollywood boulevard and super close proximity to universal studios. They let us keep our luggage at the front desk after check out as we had a super late night flight that day and the food and cocktails are great! Definitely not a cheap spot though if you are looking at travelling on a budget but definitley a couples friendly hotel.
The food was absolutely delicious. Amazing bar, breakfast, lunch, etc. The pool area is so calm and relaxed it makes you never want to leave the hotel!!! The staff was so lovely, from the breakfast guy, Shane, to the lunch waitress, we had the best time just relaxing and didn't want to go anywhere else. We were there for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and it's totally walkable! The room was so great, comfortable beds, amazing shower, just perfect.
You would only stay here for universal and it’s a short walk away, so that’s good. I think the extra charges for parking are too much considering the hotel is not cheap. It was clean, that’s all we needed. The area around the hotel is not nice and I wouldn’t walk around there if I had kids with me.
The room was clean, comfortable and a good size. Staff were efficient and granted our request for a late check out (at a cost). The hotel is located close to Union Station with links to both trains and buses, including a cheap bus link to the airport.. There are eating options nearby.
The hotel is cheap and cheerful. It felt clean, safe and was definitely convenient to the airport with a free bus just across the road. There deal for a one night stopover.
