My parents lived not far from here, so I've been visiting for many years, and Homosassa is what Florida used to be, and what is special about this part of the country. The Homosassa Wildlife Park is a great place for everyone to visit, young and old.

Manatee experiences in this area are amazing!

Manatee experiences in this area are amazing! Lots of small bars and eating places. Nearby Crystal River also had some nice shops and eating places. The Wildlife Park in Hemosassa is also very well worth checking out...lots of well cared for rehabilitated animLs and the place was very well maintained. Nearby beaches were small but nice.

Great location, plenty of restaurants to chose from.

Great location, plenty of restaurants to chose from. The springs were great to visit but be wary if you have young children. Some of the other boaters were quite liberal with their music and dancing.

We used Chassahowitzka as a base for golf outings.

We used Chassahowitzka as a base for golf outings. Its clear the area is great for fishing and kayaking but that's not our game. I would recommend the location for those who want to spend time on the water. Renting is easy and the kayaks at the accommodation are free to use.

Staff had to know Air conditioning was malfunctioning.

Staff had to know Air conditioning was malfunctioning. I went in house right after they left and could immediately tell something was wrong. Thermostat was set at 73 and inside temperature was 79. I was told when I called that the staff did not report a thing was wrong. Then when I called back to say it was now over 80 I was told it would have to wait til tomorrow. When I asked for some kind of credit for our discomfort I was told that would not be possible. Will not be inclined to use this property again or to recommend it to others.
