Captiva is beautiful and so is the South Seas resort- but...

Captiva is beautiful and so is the South Seas resort- but this condo although part of S. Seas- it is not treated as the other properties are at the resort. I think South Seas wishes they didn't have to deal with it- as I kept hearing-' That condo has nothing to do with us' They treated it as the black sheep/ red headed step child of the family- loud maintenance work each day/ repaving of the lot/ and the pool area was neglected (clean enough but so scarce and plain- can we get a landscaper or some decorator in to give it some LIFE) Thank goodness the folks at Rosen properties are cognizant and polite- to apologize for the issues- hopefully they can make this place more desirable!

    The beach was lovely.

The beach was lovely. The grounds were pretty, but the accommodations were dirty. We were hit with suprise extra fees upon arrival. They don't take cash. The staff was friendly, but we could not get help when we needed it.

    Captiva is a beautiful spot.

Captiva is a beautiful spot. Lovely beaches and nice places to eat, plenty of wildlife. Great for boating and nature photography. We spent three days there, but easily could have stayed a week. We arranged a private condo rental from a realty company. It was a one bedroom Bayside Villa at the South Seas resort. We didn't love the condo, but the resort was nice and we had beach and pool access. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants on the resort, so I can't review those. We enjoyed Old Captiva House, where we had a marvelous dinner and even returned the next morning for an equally good breakfast. We ate one night at the Bubble Room and that was great fun. Their cake is divine and it's worth a visit for the fun decor and kitsch. We did the dolphin cruise out of McCarthy's Marina and that was fun. We did see dolphins and at the docks and from the beach we also saw manatees galore! Nice spot for shelling at Blind Man's pass. We visited Ding Darling Refuge (Sanibel/Captiva) and it's worth a visit. If you want to see more birds, visit early morning and at low tide. The only thing that detracted from our stay were the no see-ums. We got devoured our last morning at Turner's Beach/Blind Man's Pass. So bring some repellent and wear it. You can't see them, but they're there and quite vicious! I'm still scratching a week later...

The beach is okay, but not spectacular.

The beach is okay, but not spectacular. Property is overpriced for what you get. We were given such a bad unit when we arrived, that we had to pay a fortune just to upgrade to something decent. Read the fine print - don't be fooled by the units being described as Villas. They're just old apartments - and the unit they put us in seemed not to have been dusted since the day it was built. The upgraded unit was also needed repairs (broken smoke detector hanging from the ceiling, flickering exterior lights, desperately needs a coat of paint).

We will definitely return to this resort but will upgrade...

We will definitely return to this resort but will upgrade and stay In a better room. The tennis court condos need updated . Once we figured out the area it was easy to navigate around. We had to go outside the resort to eat breakfast so next time we will stop at a grocery store and eat breakfast in. There are a lot of nice restaurants outside the resort.

    Captiva is beautiful.

Captiva is beautiful. We would have loved to use the southseas amenities and feel that should have been made crystal clear. Luckily we had our boat at tween waters and used their amenities. Next time we'd stay there.

It was right on the beach. Beautiful view! We lived on the patio which was screened in which was very nice, no bugs. Kitchen was fully supplied. Very clean, lots of room. Beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels supplied. Right outside of pool so you had your choice. Very quiet and peaceful. Many restaurants nearby in walking distance but would recommend rent a golf cart as soon as you make your condo reservations. Yolo is more reasonable in price. Book months out.

Captiva is an island with a “private feel”, this place does not disappoint! This is a big resort with cottages and houses on the grounds. Transportation is mostly golf carts and a trolly, serious beach vibes. Guests are mostly families, everyone was kind and happy. There’s private beaches with beautiful sunsets, restaurants and entertainment! You would be crazy NOT coming here. Secret Spot I probably shouldn’t have shared.

I liked I was in Captiva and And Rosse Streets., steps away from the Bubble room, and the ice cream/ cake shop. Very cool restaurants. My room was so clean, I mean clean. Couldn't ask for cleaner. I stayed in Daisy room, was cute inside. There was a small refrigerator with a small microwave perched on top of that with half a roll of papertowels on refrigerator as well.

The location is amazing! I loved being able to watch the shoreline from the condo. Also enjoyed walking into Captiva for meals. The condo was clean and had everything I needed. The staff was quick to fix an issue when the keypad batteries needed to be replaced.
