So clean, big bedroom and bathroom, great kitchen area. The lady of the house left a freshly baked cake and cookies for us all to take in the morning. A lovely touch.

A small town, very easy to get around. We came by train from Lisbon and had rental bicycles for a ten day jaunt delivered to our hotel from Tui, Spain. The first place in Portugal that we saw older people getting about on Mobility Scooters. The long paved route along the shore extends several kilometers to the Minho river. Quite a number of Pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

A place small enough to be relaxing and informal but modern and welcoming to an independent holidaymaker/tourist. Everything is within walking distance so you don't need a car to move about the town. The beach is huge and stretches for miles. It's clean with facilities on site. At one end of it there is a tourist office with all the info about Vila and all places worth visiting.

Ancora was super and a great home base to explore surrounding villages. Watched soccer games in Ancora. Windsurfed in Viana do Castelo, walked to Moledo and Caminha, and had lunch in La Guarda, Spain. Abundance of restaurants and bakeries. Rented bikes and a car to explore the countryside.

The host made sure I was comfortable, kept it spotlessly clean, and gave extra service of laundry. The beach was about a mile away and was absolutely stunning. The supermarket was 4 blocks away. The kitchen was well equipped.
