I loved to stay in Strandhaus. The location is great, ypu are close to the beach and the busy street with bars and restaurant is walkable. Location is slightly out of the hustle and bustle of the main strip. Which is a plus for me. At night it's quieter.
The rooms are nice and the staff does their best to keep them as clean as possible despite them being at the ground floor near the pool. It's very nice that the entrance is a few steps away from the pool.
Overall I would stay at this hotel again should I go again to Moalboal.

I am so happy we booked our spur of the moment trip to Moal Boal! It couldn't have gone better and we will definitely be making return trips there. The local people are some of the most friendly we've encountered in our world travels, the food is amazing, and the entire atmosphere was laidback, hospitable, and inviting. I was stunned by the natural beaty above and below the waters and highly recommend spending time, not only in Moal Boal, but on Cebu island as a whole! Don't let "long travel by road" deter you. Although the travel between locations (ie airport and resorts) can be a bit tedious due to (comparatively) underdeveloped road infrastructure, it also adds to the charm and exotic atmosphere. Everyone is incredibly helpful and kind, making sure you are never lost and are more than comfortable at all times. What a great place <3

Foreign tourist destination.
Foreign tourist destination. The road leading to the beach has all the things one need to resupply and eat. There's a loud music playing even in the night. And there's a tourist extorsion booth (also called sudden environmental tax payment booth) located in this road. But sarcasm aside, it's a nice starting point for local attractions such as Kawasan falls, white beach and so on. Highly recommended.

It's definitely an area you'll want a motorbike for to make the most of your stay. Once you get out of town, the travel lightens up as you venture further south. We only had one full day to make the most of it and we were able to see two different waterfalls that were a little over 90 minutes away from Moalboal. We traveled here from Siargo Island, so the pace and hustle-culture of the locals was MUCH higher than we were used to. It's not a huge deal breaker, but hanging at White Beach turned into the same vendors coming by at least three times each within an hour span to ask us if we wanted the same thing they were pitching. Again, to be expected being in a more touristy area, but I give it a knock since for some that can be annoying. The main thing here was the waterfalls and snorkeling and those things were so worth it, so I'd say if you're a diver, down for snorkeling or up for some adventures with the waterfalls (i.e. jumps) than this place will give you all the great memories.

To get the best out of Moalboal you have to adjust to tropics-time and get up early; fantastic experiences you’ll remember forever, but a NORMAL day starts at 5am, an early one at 3am. Then an early supper while you watch the astonishing sunset from the hotel restaurant (the best in the town) at 5:30, and in bed for 9 or 10.

MoalBoal is a good mix of beach, swimming/diving, bars and laid back Philippino culture. You can eat Philippino, Greek, US, UK, and a variety of food. This is not a 5-star location for facilities, but it is outstanding value and welcoming for divers, and swimmers and has a relaxed vibe. There is a good mix of foreigners/visitors and Cebu locals... good for people-watching. I genuinely like this resort because I am not put off by the amenities. If you are looking for a 5-star experience... stay in a 5-star resort, not here. If you are looking for adventure from canyoneering (nearby) to diving or just swimming among shoals of fish and seeing turtles... then MoalBoal is for you.

There's a bit of everything here for most people, depending on what you're looking for. The foreigner area is a bit away (3 km) from the main highway. There are lots of restaurants and bars, dive shops and hostels there.
There are plenty of daytime activities, but you may need to sign up for a group van the day before. I did and recommend the big canyoneering trip where you jump off short cliffs into pools of clean water (15 m is the highest, most are like 3-8 meters). You'll need water shoes and a heavy duty waterproof bag for your phone (no ziploc bags, they won't work). You will be swimming in one of the cleanest rivers with lots of water falls (ends up at Kawasan Falls) and there's volcanic rock formations and great views.
I didn't do the whale shark viewing or the island jumping, but there are plenty of choices that are family friendly. At night time there's one or two smaller discos that are open late.
I wouldn't highly recommend this area for solo travelers, it's more for couples and families and groups of friends.
You should definitely rent a motorscooter if you want to see all the surrounding attractions on your own schedule, otherwise you'll be paying for a lot of trike rides or waiting on group vans.
Gas is pretty cheap, and I only spent a couple hundred pesos on gas over three days to see pretty much everything (even Osemena Peak). Scooter rental is 350-500 pesos per day.
Joy is an incredible host who will go to any lengths for her guests. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Cebu. INCREDIBLE location with both a club and dive bar scene, gorgeous views, and many activities. Joy, however, is the best thing about Cebu. She made us breakfast, arranged a cheap taxi, and got us an incredible snorkeling experience. She is kind, funny, and generous. We even arrived late due to a cyclone shutting down roads, and she was so understanding and motherly. Amazing person and an amazing hotel in an amazing place!
The dorm room was more spacious than most hostels. You'll see the staff clean everyday. The room smells great almost like a hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the curtains gave the right amount of privacy you'll need. The location was actually very serene considering that everything from bars, restaurants to the beach are just a few mins away. Its my first time travelling solo and the staff always checked if I was good, for an introvert, I really appreciate it. 10/10 will recommend and I will definitely come back.
Excellent stay! We spent 3 nights and everything was perfect. The house is cosy (wonderful hot shower!) and it is well located between Panagsama and White beach, perfect for getting to know the best of Moalboal in a peace environment but close to everything by a quick lift in motorbike (restos and nightlife included). Giuseppe and his partner know how to help you get to know the sorroundings and also if you need a motorbike, as was our case. Totally recommended!
Stayed in a few places around Moalboal and this is hands down my favorite one! Gorgeous views from a cozy bungalow and a beach access with guaranteed 3-5 turtle sightings daily! I even saw one almost 2meters big!
Food was also quite affordable and ok. You can rent snorkeling gear for 150php for the entire stay.
Location is not close to the center but they also offer motorbike rental and it was about 13 minutes to the central area of Panagsama so it was ok.
Very stylish bedroom with a gorgeous view from the balcony (upstairs) perfect for our stay in Moalboal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to do in the area, the hostel is in prime walking distance to beach and lots of nice restaurants. We were able to rent towels and enjoyed the choice of drinks at the bar. We would stay again! Free drinking water in the room to reduce plastic was a bonus.
We liked everything about the staff and the hotel. There was a welcoming feel, and we liked the ambience of all the plants trees flora and fauna and other arrangements, above all we liked the cleanliness of the entire hotel the pool is awesome and cleaned daily, Moalboal Tropics is definitely one of the best hotels we stayed in Moalboal and we will definitely be back.
The hotel is lovely and the room was essentially a small apartment with kitchenette. The water access was great and you can snorkel right there. It's not really a beach, but it is a lovely beach like setting. The staff was wonderful and helped us set up all the travel we needed at great prices. Food was OK and the morning fruit plate was great!
Good location for white beach and only a 15 minute drive to swim with the turtles/sardines & all the restaurants! The resort also rented mopeds on site which was so helpful for when you arrive and want to go get food etc! Staff were friendly & helpful! The owners were super friendly! The bed & pillows were comfy & the room very clean throughout
The Manager of the hotel was really kind and helpful! We had problems with our phone and he gave us a free ride to Moalboal centre and helped us to get it fixed. You can also book tours directly in the hotel, like canyoning. He also helped us getting a cheap trycycle to the busstation (50 pesos each). We can really recommend it! :)
Great staff.
Good access walkway through the shallows to access snorkelling. Great coral and drop off. 5 turtles on one snorkel along the reef. Some great soft corals, pipefish, clown fish and a spectacular sighting of a sea snake hunting in the reef.
Great music played at the bar. Easy access to white beach.
Perfect location!! It is all enough for peaceful or adventurous vacation, as it is just steps away for whatever you are looking.
It is a real beachfront one and the cheapest. Personally I liked everything - location, host, dog & it's puppies😀 if I ever visit Moalboal again this is going to be my place
The staff were extremely friendly and cooperative. The front desk girl Jia went to the extent of making arrangements to deliver my clothes left behind in the room to my hotel at Cebu which was awesome and so nice of her
Best hotel in Moalboal for sureaybe even in whole cebu the best value.
You can rent scooters or snorkeling equipment, exchange money better than an atm and be dropped off to the bus stop.
