Lovely little town in a beautiful setting. Wish we had stayed there longer. Plenty of wineries around, good restaurants and shops, a great little museum and lots more. No real need for a car if you are there for a few days - plenty of tours and mostly everything within walking distance. Lots of waterfront apartments for short term stays.

I cant fault anything about my stay.
I cant fault anything about my stay. Staff were very helpful with a mechanical issue I ran into, went over and above helping me which was muchly appreciated as unfamiliar with the area. Room was clean, tidy & perfect size. Heater had been in so was nice & cozy for my nightly arrival from the ferry.
Great bathroom facilities, & nice water pressure in the free showers. Thanks for the stay!!!
I didnt do any touristy things as I was relocating to Canterbury from Hawkes Bay, perfect middle spot for trip.
Cheers Team!!!

We loved the bespoke shops and the friendly people who staffed them. We loved the whole buzzy vibe and the good walk around and have a look type shopping that is completely opposite to mall shopping (which I hate). Love, love, love that they don’t have fast food outlets in the town. The food was epic (we went to Sisu for lunch and The Oxley for dinner). Both were wonderful. Our accommodation (Picton Waterfront Apartments) was super comfortable, well located and so user friendly, as well as being really good value for money).

Picton is picturesque, one of my favourite places I have ever traveled to. I visited in winter and arrived off the Ferry during a day long downpour and even with the lashing rain and fog the scenery was magical. The journey in on the ferry was breathtaking. The following day the sun was splitting the sky and it gave opportunity to truly appreciate just how beautiful this place is. The people I encountered in Picton were friendly and very helpful.

Loved the Edwin Fox Museum - a must see, especially if you only have a short stay as we did. Sadly it was rainy, off season and a weekend when we visited, so boat tours of the sound weren't an option - there is always next time! We are Christians, so Sunday was well spent at Holy Trinity Anglican Church - well worth a visit also - very welcoming, a great message and a great rainbow on our walk to church.
The hotel couldn't have been any closer to the Picton ferry port which was really great because we have quite a delay and docked just after 11pm, hotel was easy to fine and self book in was very easy, we used it as an overnight stay only but the village/town is close if staying longer. The owners were very friendly
Breakfast was very easy, the choice was scone or toast with butter and jam/marmalade with tea/coffee
Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling on the ferry
Fantastic staff, couldn't do enough for us. Excellent location. Lovely balcony room with superb view over the harbour and marina. The manager organised rooms next to our friends so we could be close, even though the hotel was quite busy while we were staying. I also left 2 items of clothing behind and the hotel collected them and couriered them back to me. Amazing service!
Walk to bars, cafes, supermarket, waterfront etc Room comfortable Electric blankets( cosy on winter night. Very pleasant and helpful lady at reception. Really enjoyed our stay there. Will use this motel whenever we are in Picton.
