Dunedin is a good vibe city, with the young students and the senior bohemians which make for an interesting mix of people. They are so friendly. It's a modern city surrounded by old world charm. A great collection of shops in the city and mouth watering eateries. Visit the Botanical Gardens, the museums and Otago Peninsular for the wildlife. They are all first class all the way and won't disappoint. They also have buses running regularly to get you around the city.

    Loved the city and environs.

Loved the city and environs. I could have done with more time so that I could visit some of the outer attractions such as Larnach castle, Albatross centre etc. Some great coffee shops close to my accommodation. Weather was variable during my 4 days but this was as forecast days ago, so time to make provisions for the wet days.

A town full of old buildings and sights, including railway station, and churches, as well as scenic beaches for nice walks and drives around the peninsula are great. Didn’t do any dining but from what I saw there is lots to choose from.

Was visiting son, who had moved down there The first 2 days weren't very good, as we arrived during a weather crisis. We did everything there, apart from a trip to Lawrence, and the train trip was cancelled due to the weather. We ate the Blue Cod, cheese rolls, bluff oysters (a bit on the expensive side). Dined at Speights, The Best Restaurant, Saw the Museum and the settlers museum. Very good places to visit.

    Bigger than i expected.

Bigger than i expected. Lovely place and looks like there is plenty of upgrades happening in the city - both building and roads. Lots to do and lots of attractions for all. Whether its city shopping or outdoor activities. I would love to spend more time to explore here. Roads on the surrounding hills can be very narrow, steep and at times confusing.

So much to do in Dunedin!

So much to do in Dunedin! We were there for 3 days but could have spent longer. Easy to drive around the city. Had a great meal at Anatolia Turkish Kebab House, best baklava I've ever eaten. St Clair beach worth a visit and Larnach Castle is a must do.

The hotel is set in a fantastic location, right next to the beach. The staff were great upon our arrival and our room was excellent. We had a nice ocean view from the balcony, the room was clean and well appointed. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. There was onsite parking available and a few nice restaurants and cafes nearby. We were given complimentary tickets to the heated seawater pool about 150m from the hotel which we made use of. It was easy to get to the Otego Peninsular, the Albatross Centre and central Dunedin.

Very modern hotel, very comfortable, and most importantly, this hotel is very clean. We've traveled many places and stayed in many hotels, and the 555 Motel Dunedin is the only one that makes us feel at home. Excellent service; the front desk was very accommodating when we arrived very late. Four thumbs up!
