Great location with a fantastic view on the fjord, away from the hustle and bustle of Flam, however, can be slightly tricky to get around, although you just need to book onto the shuttle bus for a small fee in reality, so it's not that big of a deal.

Aurland was super pretty.
Aurland was super pretty. Definitely happy then we didn't stay at Flam, the view and town was amazing. There is a fun steep hike to take with a nice cottage along the way. Even though the weather was pretty rainy, we enjoy our stay with a cozy atmospheric mood.
Only difficulty was the bus ride from Flam to Aurland, because we weren't sure from where the bus is going and then it came late, so that was a bit stressful.
Also we definitely recommend the little Flam bakeri with delicious cinnamon buns!

Beautiful and loved staying here. Cute town and lots nearby. If you have a car it's so easy to drive between towns and various hiking spots. If you don't you can catch buses or the ferries to get to and from flam. I didn't find this hard in high season with the ferries but the buses were a bit confusing. They seem to run until 7 or so be careful not to miss it.
.there's a grocery store that's well equipped, a great bakery and pretty much all you need for a quiet stay.

I like nature and hiking, so here is perfect place for me. Walk to Brekkefossen, railway to Myrdal and back by bikes, Flam valley, Stegastein, ferry from Gudvangen to Flam and much much more… just go and have fun 😃

This place is a must-visit. It's quiet, but not too quiet—its what we Swedes would call "Lagom"
We originally traveled to Aurland because my fiancé and I felt very depressed. City life can do that to you. We wanted to feel closer to nature, and Aurland was perfect for that. It was very therapeutic to climb the mountains, go on the "fjord" safari on the water, and eat goat cheese pizza in Undredal. Our visit to Aurland made us fall in sync with nature again. The people living there were friendly(I think Norwegians overall are much friendlier than Swedes), and now we are honestly considering moving to Norway—that's how good the trip was. Excellent place!
Location is paradise on earth, right on the water’s edge. Apartment is beautifully furnished, and soap, shampoo, coffee filters, detergent…… everything is provided 😁. Aurland is peaceful and quaint, without the crowds of nearby Flam. I’m so glad there were no vacancies in Flam - this allowed me to discover the hidden jewel that is Aurland. Wangen apartments is the perfect accommodation!!!! Shops within easy walking distance and the apartment has stove and oven for easy meal preparation.
This is amazing! Stay just for the view alone, you'll never get tired of it. People come from all around the world to see what you'll see from your bedroom and living room. The apartment is also very large, very clean, warm and comfortable. Adorable sheep farm in the back. The town of Aurland is very close with restaurants, a cafe and a supermarket. Flam is 15 minutes away by car, very easy to reach. Incredible value for money. Wouldn't have stayed anywhere else!
Otnes Sor is absolutely wonderful. The setting is spectacular- right next to the fjord and within walking distance from Aurland. we enjoyed our stay tremendously and had many fun adventures enjoying the beauty of the area. I would recommend renting a car far in advance because there are not many available. Hallgeir is a kind, thoughtful host and the home is kept in pristine condition. We could not have asked for a better stay.
The owner at the front desk was a lovely person - he gave us a free lift to Aurland town in the rain, also didn’t charge us for 4 sets of linen but 2, and was so friendly. I wasn’t expecting much from the room but it was beautiful, up to date, modern, super clean and warm. I wish I stayed for more. My family really loved their stay and found that to be the best accommodation of their stay. Highly recommend this!
Talk about amazing views! It literally sits right there on the fjord and the huge window in the living room gives views that are absolutely gorgeous. My 2 kids loved each having their own bedroom. I also loved the simple and short drive to Flam from here. The price is great too for such a wonderful location. Despite anything I wasn’t crazy about with the property, the pros certainly outweigh the cons!
The Skaimsberg Apartments is a set of holiday homes in the town of Aurland, close to major tourist destinations/ locations in that part of Norway. The host was really nice, and the apartment was beautiful, well maintained and had all the amenities required for a short comfortable stay.
Note that the SPAR outlet in Aurland (~ 5-6 mins drive) closes by 8pm if you need to pick up groceries.
View over the fjord was unforgettable. All cabins and apartments appeared to have a view and a small terrace or balcony to sit on. There were a few communal terraces too. The local town was quaint and had a decent Spar supermarket, a few shops, galleries, museums, a stave church and public square with fountain. Aurland much more peaceful and authentic than neighbour Flam.
Very clean and perfect amount of space for two of us. The big windows looking onto the fjord were just as the pictures showed. We spent hours watching the sun rise/fall on the mountains and was a highlight of the trip. Would recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay in Aurland!
Really big, clean and comfortable house with a great quiet position and a beautiful view of the Aurlandsfjord. The location is near to the villages of Flam and Aurland, making easy to access facilities like, for example, markets and restaurants.

Beautiful location right on the fjord. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast was quite good. The staff were kind and considerate. Vineta at the breakfast was very helpful and kind. Aurland was peaceful and beautiful.

Nestled right up in the mountain. Have to go past the "Stegastein" viewpoint of the Aurlandsfjord. The drive up alone is worth it. Affordable. Host, Katarina, is very helpful - if you ask the right questions.
We rented two apartments, two bedrooms each. The location is great. Beautiful view of the lake. Being further away from Flåm, it was in a calm town (Aurland). There was a supermarket closeby.
Amazing view to the fjord. The cabin was comfortable with good beds and sofa and a nice kitchen.
Breakfast was nice. The hotel also has a bar which is nice for dinner.
