Good location. Helpful land owner. Good advice for alternative routes to Geiranger due to road closure. Free to upgrade our room as we were the last guests this year.

I didn't like it because it didn't turn on the heat,

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
This was our most expensive hotel in norway, and it was definately worth it.
We took 2 double rooms with views to the fjord, and waking up to this view every morning was amazing.
Everything in this hotel is excellent - the rooms, the breakfast, the staff, the washer&dryer on the 5th floor (didn't find those in any other hotel on this trip), the coffee maker in the room.
Proximity to the village is great (minutes away by car), and yet distant enough from the masses.
Highly recommend this hotel!
The first thing everyone will notice is the view is first class. It is perhaps 100 meters from the over look everyone stops at to view Geiranger with the fjord behind it. We walked to the overlook and decided our room view was better. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great.
It is a short drive into the town were there are more dining options and lots of activities. There are also great hiking options that can start right from the hotel.
The remote location in the mountains and the view to the lake.
Heated floor in the bathroom.
The staff is soo nice, joyful and helpful.
Great breakfast delivered in front of your room.
Right next to Dalsniba road, 20 mins to the start of scenic route Gamle Strynefjellsveg and 30 mins from Geiranger, actually on Geiranger Trollstigen scenic route.
We stayed for 2 nights and could have easily stayed another week to explore the entire area.
The property is located just 300-400 meters below the Flydalsjuvet view-point.
The view of the Geiranger-fjord from this property is better than the Flydalsjuvet view-point
This property is newly built so the inside facilities are clean and feel like new.
For Hytter, the bathroom is also relatively spacious and conveniently organized.
In addition, the living room and kitchen are well equipped without being cramped.
Great location up in the mountains with the view of the Fjords from our sit out area in the balcony and large window view from our dining table ! Cute equipped kitchen and had many options for nature walks with well detailed markings and details at the reception desk ! Dont miss glorious high edge view of the cliff on a short 1.6 km walk behind the hotel!
Incredible location! Perched on the hillside overlooking the Geirangerfjord. Perfect spot with many hiking trails starting at the accommodations. Great food at the restaurant with a memorable view. Sheep, goats and lamas were a bonus! Living area was nice and big for our 4 adults, kitchen was well equipped, bunk beds were big and bathroom was good.
Lovely property, superb views of the fjord, especially from the dining room. Everything modern, clean, comfortable - with all the extras…. Jacuzzi, ice machine, coffee…. And one of the best buffet breakfasts I’ve ever had. Helpful staff…. Even offered me a ride when they passed me walking back to the hotel along the road!
Premium cottage, Cabin 10, lovely view from the window. Cabin newly redone with very nice kitchen. Little table in front for having breakfast in front of fjord. Would not imagine a better place to be in Geiranger, definitely not a big hotel!
You can walk to a very nice restaurant in Grande hotel, 2 minutes walk
Without question, the view of the fjord from our room was the highlight of our stay in the hotel. The view of the fjord was beautiful and it was great to see the ships coming and going. Staff were friendly and food was good. The rooms airy and the heated floor in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise.
This place is amazing! Our little cabin was spotless, and nicely decorated with a beach house decor. Our daughter enjoyed sleeping in the little loft. Amazing view of Geirangerfjord, we watched the cruise ships come and go. Great restaurants down the street, no problem parking our car.
Great location on the Geiranger Fjord, but a few km from the village (close enough and far enough!)
The cabin is convenient and functional, with a little porch which you can sit on and soak in the view of the fjord. Can rent a motorboat or a kayak right from the campground office.
adorable moss roofed hut in an epic surrounding landscape. perfect place to stay on trip to Geiranger- very close to fjord but escape the cruise ship bustle! one of our favorite places we stayed on our Norway road trip- would recommend to anyone.
Amazing place! The house is beautiful (you have everything you need) and the view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. Recommend 10/10. No other hotel compares to it - best place to stay if you're visiting the Geiranger fjords.
The view over the fjord and the waterfall is amazing.
The room (double room with fjord view) was spacious and comfortable.
We really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi. It was a good way to relax after discovering the Geiranger fjord.
The location is stunning. You eat and rest looking directly above Geirangerfjord. When you go out of the cabin, you have a waterfall roaring immediately besides the toilets. If location maximum score is 10, this is 11.
I had the room with a balcony and the view (albeit over the roof of the hotel annex) was stunning looking directly at the fjord. However the room was very small.
Chatting to the staff.
This was the best place to spent one night during our 14 days trip to Norway, Denmark and Sweden! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room is very nice with great view.
The best facilities hotel that we hve ever stayed in Norway! The dinner buffet is very amazing! The kids playroom is also very clean. The outdoor swimming pool is wonderful!
