Basic but great value for money compared to other places in the area. Great location. Food was lovely. Cruises they offer were great with a fantastic guide who was very knowledgeable - plus at a much cheaper price than other places nearby.

Small family-run accommodation with a fan and in the middle of the jungle. Linda and the staff do everything to make your stay a unique experience. Fascinating insights into the animal world.

The staff are all really friendly and the guides who lead the boat trips and treks are very knowledgeable. Halim, especially, was fantastic - we were always pleased when he was in our boat! The boat trips were really good and we saw lots of different wildlife. The great thing was the trips didn't feel rushed - because they're run by Bilit, there was no rush to get back if there was something interesting to stop and see. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with good working air con. The food - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - was all good. Decent variety at the buffets and plenty to eat! The banana fritters for afternoon tea were also a nice little treat. The social aspect and opportunity to meet new people, because you get seated with your boat mates for meals.
Nestled along the bank of the Kinabatangan River and tropical lush greenery, the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort is an eco-resort located in the village of Bilit, Malaysia.
Amazing time on the river! This is a great place to stay.
Amazing time on the river! This is a great place to stay. Make sure you visit the Saturday/ Sunday market for a glimpse of local life. We would advise joining as many cruises as possible during your stay, to spot as much wildlife as possible. It seems the tours are all the same just the accommodation varies, so don’t worry about being on a budget. We did a 3D2N tour at sakau backpackers (we believe cheapest on the river) and it was absolutely amazing, comfortable rooms, but the important part was the great river cruises and passionate guides who would do all they could to hunt to find as much wildlife as possible. Out of 4 months in Asia, our time in Sakau and Sepilok has been our favourite.

It was incredible.
It was incredible. We did the morning and eveninv cruise with Masz (they have their own boat). We saw almost everything! Saw an Orangutan and Masz got a tip off about an elephant but it left just before we arrived but we could still hear it moving through the forest, saw loads of every type of monkey and even a large croc on the bank. Loads of birds like Kingfishers and Hornbills. The restaurant is incredible too, and so cheap! Masz even drove the whole hostel to the local market on Friday evening in her truck. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Masz for such a memorable stay.
