We stayed in several hotels on the island. And the best impression was left by this hotel. It is not big at all, but very cozy. There are good towels (it turns out that other hotels have problems with the quality of towels). There is hot water. And the rooms themselves are clean. Two hooligan cats live on the territory))))) As for the music, it is not loud and plays only until 10 p.m. The hotel also has a cafe with a chef who deserves a Michelin star 🫶. In the hotel and the cafe are done with style and very nice. Next time we will definitely come back here

It was 2 star Motel, not 4 star Hotel. The rooms well painted in dark blue many years ago and now looks old and not clean. It was very dark inside and there was no place to open the baggage.
The only good things to say are good localisation near the beach and good breakfast. Nothing more. Better to find nicer hotel.

A nice costal city with mixed culture. There are a lot places you can visit including religious and colonial-era attractions. Beaches around the city are some of the best beaches you can find in the world. The city is located around the world's largest natural harbor.

The property is in a good location. The surrounding areas are very nice.
The staff behaviour was somewhat similar to un-accommodating . Trying to be polite but no for every request.
The food spread for dinner buffet was very limited and also not so tasty. Not worth the money.
Overall not worth the money spent, though they said it was peak season but not seen the Hotel booked to the capacity. The prices were exorbitantly high.

Great beaches, we were well to the North end and it was a bit more developed with tourist facilities. The rest, including Dutch Bay were much less developed. Friendly people, high quality food (with prices to match but we got great food so were fine with it).

Near the beach you can do a lot and our children enjoyed it. Lots of places to eat. Good prices for food and drinks if you look at the right place. Activities like snorkeling or dolphin watching are too expensive for what you get. Prices for tourist activities are reaching the level of european countries. Use apps for tuktuk costs.

The property is right on the beach. With the calm seas, it was like having a big pool.
It also has a restaurant and also few restaurants along the beach. There are also 5 star hotels within walking distance.
The food at the restaurant was simple and tasty.
There is also mini supermarket at the top of the road.
The property also has a diving centre, if you fancy a bit of diving or snorkelling.
The manager Dilan was very helpful.
The divemaster Upekha was also honest with his recommendations.
Cosy group of four bungalows just a five minute walk to the beach. We had the AC bungalow and it was cool. Bed and pillows were the comfiest so far in Sri Lanka. Bathroom was super basic (as expected) but clean. Internet worked well (unusually for Sri Lanka!). The staff were lovely. Offered free water refills from a bottled filter - much appreciated. Value for money really great.
Hotel Sun Blue in Trincomalee is a great choice for a stay in Uppuveli. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the A/C works perfectly. The hosts are kind and attentive, and the location is ideal, just a short walk from the beach. Amenities are basic, but for the price, it's a perfect stay
The restaurant chef made us an outstanding Sri Lankan omelette and coffee for breakfast. The pool was clean and refreshing. The roof top entertaining area was beautifully maintained, with tropical plants and flowers, as well as a breathtaking view of Trincomalee Bay.
I loved being able to walk out of my room, through our verandah and on to the pool or the beach. The perfect beach holiday escape. Food was excellent, staff were excellent. We voted this our favourite hotel in Sri Lanka.
