Since Ratnapura is a very busy city (loud and smelly), it,s nice to be in a quiet place away from the bustle of the town. Summer Ridge is a 12 minute walk away from a main street up on a green hill among tropical vegetation and fantastic birds. It,s nice and quiet. If you have a choice, take the room with the balcony.
Offering garden views, 4Seasons Holiday Home in Ratnapura offers accommodation and a garden.

4Seasons Holiday Home was an excellent experience and exceeded our expectations. The house was extremely clean with excellent lighting and many fans. You get an entire house with a huge living area, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, big bedroom with strong AC, big bathroom and huge balcony. The bathroom has hot water, soap, shampoo, toothpaste and a new toothbrush. We had fresh clean towels offered. There is filtered water directly from the tap, as well as multiple bottles of water throughout the house. Janaka and Mali were AMAZING hosts and we felt like they were our Sri Lankan mom and dad. They were so warm and kind, and extremely attentive. There are waterfalls around that you can visit, and of course the gem market is strong. There are various gem markets to visit including cut and polished market and the rough market. We also visited a few mines close by. The town is a 5 min walk away from the house to get anything you need. We would definitely return here when we come back to Ratnapura.
The average price per night for a 3-star hotel in Ratnapura this weekend is £34 or, for a 4-star hotel, £245. Looking for something even fancier? 5-star hotels in Ratnapura for this weekend cost on average around £15 per night (based on Booking.com prices).

Ratnapura is a fascinating town with few concessions for the western tourist. If you have an interest in the real, gritty Sri Lanka (particularly if the gem industry has appeal) then this town will afford endless stimulation. If, on the other hand you are looking for a holiday resort with restaurants and attractions don't bother - stick to the west coast.

Friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Food was very good. Would definitely visit again and stay for longer.
Access to the hotel by mini bus was a little difficult due to the narrow road. Every thing else was perfect.
