Extremely expensive hotels. I don't count any more the times I've been in Venice (cheap hotels in the neighborhood and daytrips). This time I booked no trip/excursion with a guide, just the Vaporetto (waterbus) which is indispensible in Venice. Just walked around all over Venice, probably even places no tourist ever went before and it was still great. Ate in restaurants away from the very busy tourist streets - look for these as they are often just a few streets away (cheaper and better). One big thing I didn't like: probably over half of the shops are run by Indians. It was 6 years ago since I last came, but I really got the impression Venice does not belong to the Italians any more and that's a shame! At night (passed 11PM) I saw 2 men dressed like Saoudi princes that seemed to collect the revenues from these shops. Many people working in restaurants and bars are also Indians. Cheap exploitable labor? I'm afraid to think what it will look like next time ...

Venice obviously can get very busy but it is ideal for a short stay of between 1 and 7 nights. A good base to explore other towns and cities nearby or a stopover on your way elsewhere. The airport is easy to navigate and well organised.
Be prepared for lot of walking - probably somewhere to avoid for the mobility - impaired due to physical restrictions such as bridges/steps .

Venice is special because of its uniqueness of the waterways and canals. It is beautiful everywhere one turns. The food was good and the people we had encountered are nice and pleasant.
We were wary of pickpockets but if one takes precaution, one should not worry too much. The Venice Biennale art exhibition is ongoing and it is a great time to visit Venice. Burano was a more interesting visit than Murano but both worth doing. Having a drink at the Ritz Carlton Hotel bar overlooking the canal was very nice. Getting lost generally in Venice and doing lots of walking will make you appreciate Venice more.
Try the food but enquire on the price first. Most places serv decent food. And don't forget to try the famous Venchi gelato. You will want more after that. Coffee lovers would love their coffee there which is priced very reasonably between Euros 2 to 4 per cup.

The entire city with its canals, bridges, quaint alleys was fantastic! I read beforehand that you need to “get lost” in Venice and that is so true! Every turn you take leads you to another beautiful location. You should plan on staying here three nights.
Location! Location! Location!
I tend to be very particular when It comes to hotel stays. However, to my surprise...there was literally nothing to complain about in terms of the room, cleanliness etc. The hotel gave the feel that I was In Italy, from the décor to furniture( rustic and authentic....exactly what I was after). We were on the 3rd floor ( lift available) which was fine. The room was to our satisfaction...I would say though...ditch these red floral blankets. We enjoyed breakfast. Staff was nice. Overall VALUE FOR MONEY!
First of all.. I was amazed to see I booked a hotel which is itself only on an island.. then came to know this is university cum hotel. The ambience was obviously different from other resorts but I liked it best. Cherry on top is beautiful CAFE.
Room was bigger than expected. Garden is much bigger than expected.
Hosts are amazing.. I stayed in 3 cities of Italy and found the hosts are amazing all over there. Its italy culture I think.
You can keep your luggage after checkout without worrying about.
Front Desk staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants.
The breakfast buffet in the morning and the service in the breakfast room were the best of the eight hotels we stayed at in Italy. The outside garden was lovely but it was too cold to use in late April. There were gondolas right outside the front door. The bathroom and room were very comfortable. The location is fabulous. Convenient St Mark's Square as well as the waterfront with all the vaporettos but tucked away from the crowds.
This must be one of the best hotels in Venice. Even though part of a large hotel chain, it still has the small family hotel atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble with staff going beyond their call of duty. The position of the hotel must be the best in Venice, literally on the Grand Canal opposite a beautiful church Santa Maria della Salute and only minutes away from St Mark's Square. yet still peaceful away from the crowds.
Very friendly couple host. Nice and clean room, great shower. Best breakfast selection we had in Italy with meats and cheese, cereal, biscuits and fruit to hand. Gave us tips about travelling in Venice which was nice. Perfect location 1 min walk to tram stop and shops and restaurants close by. Tram takes you centre of Venice within 20 mins or so. Hosts let us keep our bags there after check out which was nice as we had a late evening flight.
I cannot even express how amazing this place is. Staff always greets with a big smile. They all know English very well. Always welcoming to answer any question. I love the room. Love the view uven on the back side. Beautiful place. The breakfast was the best out of the 5 places we stayed in Italy. The boat stop is 1 min walk from hotel. The rialto bridge 1 min walk. This is super central to everything. Best place in Venice
Location is everything in Venice. It is right on a canal for water taxi access, within easy walking distance to all the sites, beautiful views, and great restaurants. We loved it 10 years ago and it’s even better now, having been completely renovated. Very good breakfast. Best staff. Take a water taxi to/from the airport or train station; it might be the most wonderful thing you do in Italy — besides eating 😉.
A fantastic beautiful hotel. Centrally located. Exceptionally clean and excellent speedy customer interaction. Prices in April very reasonable for such fabulous location and luxury. Breakfast the best ever had in Italy. Comfy huge beds, marble bathrooms and historic Italian decor. Take the water taxi from the airport right to the hotel. Amazing. Definitely recommend and would return
We booked a room with a view overlooking the Grand Canal and it was well worth the upgrade! This was our first trip to Italy and starting in Venice was so much fun. The hotel was everything we had hoped for and we look forward to recommending it to our friends. We hope to return to your beautiful hotel again. The staff were all amazing!
It was in a nice location near some excellent tapas style wine bars. Venice is overall a confusing city to navigate, so it is not the hotel's fault it was difficult to find. The room was clean and the elevator worked better than many other hotels I stayed at in italy.
This was a last minute booking due to the air traffic strike in Italy, so I was really surprised how lovely and clean these suites were and in a brilliant location on a little canal in Venice,.with the gondalas going past I would definitely use these again .,
The staff was wonderful. So helpful to this lady traveling alone, who had never been to Italy before. They were terrific. The location in Venice was ideal. The room was a little small to move around in, but had everything I could want and was very clean.
Fantastic location in Venice, my favourite hotel out of our 2 weeks in italy. Really big space with perfect air con. Loved the location for exploring Venice.
Staff were very friendly and thought the price was super for a touristy spot in August. Fab!
Fantastic breakfast in spite of Covid19 - actually the best selection we ever had in Italy, including large grand hotels. Extremely helpful and friendly people, even gave us a bottle of Procecco and large piece of Panettone for new year.
The staff is very friendly and nice. And the facilities are what we expected. The location is one of the best in Venice, Italy. The prices are reasonable. Comfort at the property. Enjoyed there.
Thank you for everything.
location decor design, very good ac and fans host has left a lot of amenities and snacks out and waited to greet us personally to our arrival in Venice travelled 18 days all over Italy and best place we stayed
The directions to the hotel were detailed enough that I actually got to the hotel...a definite achievement in Venice1 The breakfast was the best I've encountered in my two months of travel through Italy.
The cost was comparable to other properties in Venice, but much higher than anywhere else in Italy. The breakfast was outstanding and with Easter Sunday there were a lot of special pastries and cakes.
It had a nice spread of breakfast, probably the best I got during my entire stay in Italy. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel that has super friendly staff and very clean.
