We visited in early June and Venice was already very busy.
We visited in early June and Venice was already very busy. Getting around on the vaporetto (water taxi) was very easy with no significant delays. Download a decent high res .pdf of the water taxi route plan giving all the route numbers and pickup/dropoff locations. We booked 7 day passes for about £100 for two people (best way). We lost money prebooking for museums etc so don't get carried away before your visit. The Doge's Palace reflects the grim reality of 16th Century Venice and well worth a visit. We have seen everything on previous visits. Burano is a delight but the vaporetto is very busy at peak times - arrive early, stay late and enjoy a long day. Get the photos to remember this beautiful place. Next time we will visit at a quieter time of year 👍👍

Very touristy and expensive compared to other cities in Italy. Watch out for pickpockets. Don’t expect to get any good deals on food or shopping. Avoid eating at any cafes on St Marks square. Explore in the morning before the mob of tourists descends (around lunchtime). Lower your expectations about the gondola rides - 90 Euro for roughly 20 minutes. On the plus side, St Marks Basilica is impressive and we took great photos of the canals.

Everyone should visit Venice at least once in their lifetime. The city becomes even more appreciated with subsequent visits. For those who are familiar with it, Venice can be overwhelming, daunting, intimidating, mysterious, and beautiful all at once. It's a place that engages every sense of the human body, and it's an experience that will never be forgotten.

Venice is a beautiful place with lots of architectural buildings and churches that are amazing to see. The food is exceptional at most places. A little pricy for food but overall a great place to visit. People are helpful and stylish, but they don’t care what we wear, except if going into church, shoulders and knees need to be covered. Other than that an amazing place to visit.
If you are traveling with a lot of luggage pay for a private water taxi instead of the Vaporetto (city water bus”. Lots of people so save the aggravation.

I loved everything about Venice, I have been 4 times and fall a little bit more in love with it every time I come and discover new things.
The people are friendly, the city is magical and has a lot of History, the food is amazing
My one tip is too wear a comfy pair of shoes/trainers as there is a lot of walking involved
Soo cozy accommodation, very polite personal, Sarah was keeping in touch with us during all our stay in Venice. The location is perfect, tou could feel that you are part of domestic Italian life, non tourists area will put you more into Italy. There is small supermarket near by ,cheap and great selection.
The apartment has smart lock that why it make your arriving time so flexible...
The bed was soo good I was sleeping as a baby after long walks in the city.
Yhank you soo much ! Will come for sure next time only to your accommodation.
Very easy!! We arrived to Venice too early and the apartment wasn't ready but the host was nice enough to let us leave our luggage and he met us very shortly after and Neve the cleaning lady was extremely accommodating. The location was excellent. Very close to everything. The apartment is so nice and clean with a beautiful view of the canal at the back. It was our first trip to Italy and we are happy with our choice. We will come back and most definitely stay here!! Thank you for everything and your kindness!! Best luck always!
The stay at canal view was my favourite of my 10 days in Italy. The room was beautiful, spotless and spacious, and exactly like the pictures. The location is labour 100m from the Rialto bridge right in the centre of San Marco. Matteo was a fabulous host he helped us with our heavy luggage, had a complimentary mini bar and helped with all our questions about transfers to and from the airport, train station and bus station. Every detail was fabulous. The perfect hotel in Venice thank you very much for your hospitality!
We started our two week honeymoon in Italy at Campiello Zen with three nights in Venice. The room was super clean with a great shower and lovely antique touches; the common area has an awesome patio and full kitchen and the location is very central but in a quiet neighborhood. The BEST part of this B&B is the host Andrea! He provided us an amazing walking route through Venice, tons of local recommendations, made us dinner reservations upon request and just a super friendly guy. Highly recommend!
I really liked the room because it came with a balcony!! Best feature I'd say. It is in a great location. The room was clean and I liked the venetian style decor with the fabric wall covering and the bold patterns. I also liked the later check out time which is 11am compared to others that are earlier. The 24Hr front desk person is also nice to have, not every hotel offers this in Italy. The breakfast is nice and the staff ladies are so sweet.
Very friendly couple host. Nice and clean room, great shower. Best breakfast selection we had in Italy with meats and cheese, cereal, biscuits and fruit to hand. Gave us tips about travelling in Venice which was nice. Perfect location 1 min walk to tram stop and shops and restaurants close by. Tram takes you centre of Venice within 20 mins or so. Hosts let us keep our bags there after check out which was nice as we had a late evening flight.
The system on Booking.com failed as a result of a scam so our booking, although confirmed and booked several months in advance for this, ended up being lost on the system. This left us on the streets of Venice in the early hours of a Sunday morning with no access to the accommodation and no response from Wonderful Italy or Booking.com
Eventually a hotel took us in at 2am.
Very upsetting and disappointing experience to our romantic trip.
I cannot even express how amazing this place is. Staff always greets with a big smile. They all know English very well. Always welcoming to answer any question. I love the room. Love the view uven on the back side. Beautiful place. The breakfast was the best out of the 5 places we stayed in Italy. The boat stop is 1 min walk from hotel. The rialto bridge 1 min walk. This is super central to everything. Best place in Venice
The hotel was beautiful with a great location. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We were surprised with a free upgrade to the Royal Suite. The room was simply amazing. The breakfast was also fantastic. They also set up a water taxi service to take us to the airport at check out. We would stay at the Dona' Palace over and over. It was the perfect place to end our 30th Anniversary celebration in Italy.
The room and view were spectacular. It was our first visit to Europe and Venice, Italy was a perfect start to our trip. Marco and Chiara were professional and extremely helpful. They explained how Venice was laid out and how to navigate. They gave us an extensive list of places to eat each meal in each siestrie. The room staff were so efficient and our room was spotless and well equipped. A total pleasure.
If you stay in Venice during a heat wave, there is nothing better than an island with a 12th century monastery on it surrounded by a huge park with a nice pool inside it. San Clemente is our favorite place in Venice to stay, with its magnificent architecture and one of the best breakfasts you can eat in Italy. The staff is amazing. There is a regular ten-minute boat shuttle to San Marco.
Accommodation in Venice is extremely expensive in general. I think that Hotel Rossi is the best place to choose if you are on a budget. It doesn't have to offer much(no view, it is a small room, a little bit old and the beds were cots, the bathroom was nothing special) but if you want to rent a rather cheap place to have a room to shower and sleep is the perfect choice.
Very clean room, amazing location just outside the tourist part of town and host gave us a ton of recommendations. The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. The b&b is located within his home, but it feels like a hotel with a more personal touch. We really enjoyed our stay and the coffee with breakfast is the best I had in all of Italy!
Great location in the beginning of Venice, so you can get ride of your luggage right away. Everything worked well, and staff was really friendly. Breakfast was better than expected,as often in Italy the breakfast are not so good but this place had good variations. Can easily recommended the hotel 🙂
The island is stunning! An oasis escape from the tourists of Venice but a quick boat ride to all of the main islands. The bikes were amazing for getting to and from the boat, but also for exploring the island.
The breakfast was also a stand out, the best we had in Italy!
This is such a stunning hotel. The room was my favorite out of all the cities we visited in Italy on our honeymoon. The staff, breakfast, bar, room design and location were absolutely perfect. I would have stayed our whole vacation if I had know about this gem.
Beautiful entrance, neat furnishings. One of the few hotels in Italy to have a kettle and tea inside. Even issued slippers! They also cleaned much better the room than what I've generally witnessed in Italy.
