Lovely staff - I felt looked after. The location is splendid - right near the boats quai for the islands and the park. There is a cafe/restaurant opposite with a view of the lake and surprisingly good food - great for a no fuss dinner. I love this kind of traditional Italian hotel - well kept, well run

It’s not too big, enough choice for eating & things to do.
It’s not too big, enough choice for eating & things to do. Not a big nightlife in terms of pubs & nightclubs. Good enough facilities for eating at home. We walked around a lot, took the ferry trips in the guidebooks, enjoyed Pallanza.

Walkable depending on where you stay.
Walkable depending on where you stay. Many great restaurants. Beautiful views of the lake and plenty of educational snd interesting palaces yo tour!
We had 10 days in Stresa. 4 in a VRBO and 6 at a lovely hotel.
The Friday market interesting as well as our drive to Arche d Rocca in Arona. Took the train through the mountains of N Italy and S Switzerland from Domolossala to Locarno. Booked through a travel agency on the Main Street. After the train ride a boat back to Stresa. A fun day trip with the sunshine and nice people we met made it even better. Included was a coach from the train station to Domodosolla as the tracks from Stresa are under repair.
Central restaurant has a great food at a reasonable price. The owner was very welcoming both times we dined at their outside patio and inside - because it was raining.
The Michelin Star restaurant is overrated! Not hospitable! A small laminated card was included with the bill asking if one leaves a tip to do kindly do so in cash! Somehow I think this is only fine for the tourists and not the locals! Cold atmosphere snd know you will pay a cover seat charge for the “ pleasure” of dining in their restaurant.
One can walk to the marinas and the town is very easy to navigate.
We would recommend others to visit Stresa as a beautiful town on the gorgeous Lago Maggiore.

Stresa is a small beautiful village on the shores of Lake Maggiore, that takes you back to a time of stillness, palaces, and beautiful scenery. The Borromeo Islands are out of this world. It’s easy to walk around, the stroll by the lake is super nice. Our favorite restaurant was casa Rampolina up the hill, offering delicious local food and amazing lake views.

A nice town with some good restaurants if you take the time to look for them away from the standard tourist haunts. Stresa is well located for visiting other areas around Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and Lake Como.

We loved Stresa - there was a lot to do there and in the area. We took ferries to St. Catherine Monestary and to Isola Bella which was incredible. We also took a day trip to Lake Orta and did a hike up the hills for beautiful views of the alps. You could defiantly stay longer - it is a great base camp for exploring the area, especially if you have a car. But be warned - roads are narrow and winding and the Italian drivers are crazy. Stresa had lovey shops and so many good restaurant choices - the hotel staff was great at making recommendations.

I like the location of the town, the vibrant character of the town with its bustling shops and terrific collection of restaurants including a handful that are Michelin-recommended (but not starred YET).
I like the size of the town- not too big, not too small, totally walkable and easy to learn your way around!
A most beautiful location, on the wester shore of Lake Maggiore with snow capped Italian and Swiss alps visible on the horizons above the lake in early to mid may, and best (ferry) access to the 3 nearby Borromean islands, two with their beautiful tourable Palace and Gardens (Isola Madre and Isola Bella) and one for its shops and eateries ( Isla Pescatori aka Superiore).
Restaurant prices are ridiculously affordable compared to Milan or Switzerland: a foodie heaven. Michelin-listed restaurants (not yet "starred to my knowledge) serve exceptional and genuine regional fare, my favorites were Al Vicoletto, Ristorante Pizzeria Pappagallo, Lo Stornello, and the one we didn't have a chance to reach but will next time is on the hills above Stresa with the views called La Rampolina.
If you are a wine lover or foodie, be sure to stop by the La Cambusa Wine shop for a free tasting and learn the owner's secret favorites!
The hotel owners and staff were extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Stresa. We wanted to rent a motor boat on the lake one day and they located a rental company for us and helped arrange it. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and close walking distance to all the Stresa restaurants and shops. We had a beautiful view of the lake. My husband ran lakeside every morning and really enjoyed that. This was the first stop on our babymoon and we really enjoyed spending 5 nights here and relaxing.
The hotel has one big advantage: Its central location. One can reach the small center of Stresa as well as the lake in just a few minutes. In fact the lakeside walkway is just opposite of the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers covered (underground) parking on two levels, which is otherwise hard to find in Stresa and expensive. There seem to be enough spaces in the parking garage even in high season. Staff is friendly, the hotel and its wonderful flower garden look very clean, neat, and trimmed.
Breakfast was hearty and delicious with many selections. Loved that it was served earlier - perfect for those who wanted to do the Borromean islands at 9 am.
This hotel is in Carciano, about a 15 minute beautiful walk by the lake to Stresa. One can take the ferry to the Borromean islands from here, just a 4 minute walk from the hotel. The views in our 3rd floor room facing the lake were fantastic, especially when in its balcony.
Comfortable accommodation with million dollar views.
The property is well located and very comfortable. Its a very short distance to the lake and ferry stop. The piazza is adjacent with a great assortment of restaurants. Giovanni the owner lives close and is very helpful . The property is VERY quiet so it made for great sleeping despite being close to the piazza. Stresa is a great base for Lake Maggiore, day trip to Milan and the Maggiore Express day trip too. And it’s a lovely town too!
We were completely blown away by this incredibly beautiful hotel. Breakfast was extensive, with lovely tables overlooking the lago, wonderful pools and spa/wellness center in glass pavillion is brand new and included in your stay, staff is perfect, we cannot find enough nice things to say. Our family plans to return as often as possible for a truly relaxing experience - not to mention the very cute town of Stresa.
The hotel is located super close to the Lago and within walking distance to the centro. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The entire place is really clean and the room was cosy. The pool is small but we’ll kept and there are lots of lounging chairs, umbrellas and towels available. Heads up if you are tall like us (6 ft): the bed was only 6’3” (as is the norm in Italy) but it’s big enough to still be comfy.
Everything. We loved our stay. Rooms were spacious with amazing views. Hotel staff and breakfast staff were outstanding. We loved the rooftop bar, pool area and swimming in the lake. We had other family stay here last year and are so thankful they recommended the hotel. Our kids said it was their favorite part of the trip. We cannot wait to come back for another visit. Amazing place to vacation.
the best location in stresa!!!
the apartments are in a great location. very clean and well equipment. The host greeted us. the hot tub was great and the roof top terrace a perfect place to relax for breakfast/afternoon drinks. I managed to leave our passports behind. the amazing host reunited us with the passport by driving to our hotel in Milan!!! if you are going to Stresa stay here!
A large apartment suitable for a family of 6, three rooms, a very beautiful view of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, the hostess is so nice and helpful with every question, the apartment is equipped to the last item, an excellent and equipped kitchen, very clean, parking is a few meters away from the apartment, I highly recommend this place, for sure I will come back to stay there..
The owner is very kind, helpful and flexible. He helped us a lot however we were quite late.
Location is great: close to the railway station and in reachable distance from the city center of Stresa. The Hotel is in a quiet street, lovely inside and outside. The rooms are clean and cozy.
There is a private parking lot, you don't have to leave your car on the street.
Absolutely lovely boutique hotel. Ideally located alongside a quiet stretch of the lake and very close to all boat departures. Superb rooftop terrace for breakfast and very friendly staff. We had the studio, very clean, cosy and functional. Ideal for a small family with independent entry and terrace. Would return without hesitation if we go back to Stresa!
We stopped here last minute after a long drive up through Italy. Very simple but spotlessly clean room, comfortable bed, very friendly host. First time in Stresa and we'd like to go back, so we'll certainly think about this place - very good breakfast included.
Everything.A second visit proved all our great recollections of this hotel were true. The setting is incomprable, the hotel staff are warm and helpful, the rooms are very comfortable and the restaurant and service are top grade. We hope to return another time.
cozy property, beautiful view above stresa, and outstanding hosts!!! danielle and mirella are absolutely the best host we’ve ever encountered. they really do make sure you stay good and enjoy your time in Italy. a lovely couple and a fantastic stay.
This is a very nice hotel just in front of the lake. Wonderful position to visit Stresa and the surrounding (islands, Villa Pallavicino, etc). Very clean and with very nice staff ready to help you.
This hotel makes a good choice in Stresa at lower cost than the classic hotels. It does what is sets out to achieve. Best feature is the breakfast room which is large, airy and stylish.
It is an elegant hotel and a very nice location. The service from we arrived to left the hotel was very good. Nice room with an excellent view. We loved to stay in Stresa.
