Lovely staff - I felt looked after. The location is splendid - right near the boats quai for the islands and the park. There is a cafe/restaurant opposite with a view of the lake and surprisingly good food - great for a no fuss dinner. I love this kind of traditional Italian hotel - well kept, well run

It’s not too big, enough choice for eating & things to do.
It’s not too big, enough choice for eating & things to do. Not a big nightlife in terms of pubs & nightclubs. Good enough facilities for eating at home. We walked around a lot, took the ferry trips in the guidebooks, enjoyed Pallanza.

Walkable depending on where you stay.
Walkable depending on where you stay. Many great restaurants. Beautiful views of the lake and plenty of educational snd interesting palaces yo tour!
We had 10 days in Stresa. 4 in a VRBO and 6 at a lovely hotel.
The Friday market interesting as well as our drive to Arche d Rocca in Arona. Took the train through the mountains of N Italy and S Switzerland from Domolossala to Locarno. Booked through a travel agency on the Main Street. After the train ride a boat back to Stresa. A fun day trip with the sunshine and nice people we met made it even better. Included was a coach from the train station to Domodosolla as the tracks from Stresa are under repair.
Central restaurant has a great food at a reasonable price. The owner was very welcoming both times we dined at their outside patio and inside - because it was raining.
The Michelin Star restaurant is overrated! Not hospitable! A small laminated card was included with the bill asking if one leaves a tip to do kindly do so in cash! Somehow I think this is only fine for the tourists and not the locals! Cold atmosphere snd know you will pay a cover seat charge for the “ pleasure” of dining in their restaurant.
One can walk to the marinas and the town is very easy to navigate.
We would recommend others to visit Stresa as a beautiful town on the gorgeous Lago Maggiore.

Stresa is a small beautiful village on the shores of Lake Maggiore, that takes you back to a time of stillness, palaces, and beautiful scenery. The Borromeo Islands are out of this world. It’s easy to walk around, the stroll by the lake is super nice. Our favorite restaurant was casa Rampolina up the hill, offering delicious local food and amazing lake views.

A nice town with some good restaurants if you take the time to look for them away from the standard tourist haunts. Stresa is well located for visiting other areas around Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and Lake Como.

We loved Stresa - there was a lot to do there and in the area. We took ferries to St. Catherine Monestary and to Isola Bella which was incredible. We also took a day trip to Lake Orta and did a hike up the hills for beautiful views of the alps. You could defiantly stay longer - it is a great base camp for exploring the area, especially if you have a car. But be warned - roads are narrow and winding and the Italian drivers are crazy. Stresa had lovey shops and so many good restaurant choices - the hotel staff was great at making recommendations.

I like the location of the town, the vibrant character of the town with its bustling shops and terrific collection of restaurants including a handful that are Michelin-recommended (but not starred YET).
I like the size of the town- not too big, not too small, totally walkable and easy to learn your way around!
A most beautiful location, on the wester shore of Lake Maggiore with snow capped Italian and Swiss alps visible on the horizons above the lake in early to mid may, and best (ferry) access to the 3 nearby Borromean islands, two with their beautiful tourable Palace and Gardens (Isola Madre and Isola Bella) and one for its shops and eateries ( Isla Pescatori aka Superiore).
Restaurant prices are ridiculously affordable compared to Milan or Switzerland: a foodie heaven. Michelin-listed restaurants (not yet "starred to my knowledge) serve exceptional and genuine regional fare, my favorites were Al Vicoletto, Ristorante Pizzeria Pappagallo, Lo Stornello, and the one we didn't have a chance to reach but will next time is on the hills above Stresa with the views called La Rampolina.
If you are a wine lover or foodie, be sure to stop by the La Cambusa Wine shop for a free tasting and learn the owner's secret favorites!
Hotel is "in center of Stresa city center" . A few meters to the Lake waterfront. Despite its locatated in the city center there is very quiet because it is a pedestrian zone.
Recommendation for people who comes by car. Put to the navigation no hotel address but parking on Piazza Gugliemo Marconi near to ferry boat port. It is aprox 100 m from the hotel. And ask on hotel front desk parking ticket. Ticket on the front desk costs 10euros/24hrs
Beautiful hotel, perfectly located in Stresa! Our room was so quiet, comfortable and charming, and we loved having breakfast delivered to our room and eating out on the balcony with views of the lake. Great restaurants within just a couple of minutes walk of the hotel, and the boat dock to go to the islands was basically across the street. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. We only wish we could've stayed longer!
Staying here was the best vacation we have ever experienced. Gorgeous hotel, immaculately maintained. Excellent breakfast. Gorgeous pool. Breathtaking view from the room. Very friendly staff and perfect location. We went as a romantic getaway, but plan to return next summer with the whole extended family. Plenty to do and yet so incredibly relaxing, Stresa is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
This was a last minute reservation for us, so we were very happy that the hotel made room for us to stay. It was incredible that they put us in a room with the best view the hotel had. We extended our stay an additional night to take advantage of luck. Nice property across the street from the ferry terminal which was very convenient and very close to the old town and many restaurants and shops.
The location was delightful, my room with balcony overlooked an old town plaza. The hotel was 5 mins walk to the lakeshore. Walk distracted by Italian stores, restaurants, bars, etc and traffic crossing. Absolutely beautiful area, snowy peaks, misty mountains, like something out of Lord of the Rings.
Inside of the hotel very ornate and a lovely sense of history. Lovely dinner and breakfast and even managed to squeeze in a visit to the very nice Spa. Had a lovely last morning in Stresa sitting outside in the sunshine looking out over the lake with first a coffee and then a final Spritz!
Beautiful hotel in a perfect location with the wonderful staff. It was newly updated. Everything was tastefully executed and truly superb. The rooftop deck serving delicious breakfast and cocktails had breathtaking views overlooking the lake and Stresa.
Very nice small hotel in the centre of Stresa.3-5 minuts from everything: boats, cafes, restorants. Very quiet room for good relax! Good breakfasts! Very friendfull and helpfull hostess. Dear Marisa, thank you very much! We feel ourself as at home!
Nice family-run hotel, not pretentious, but you have everything you need for a wonderful stay in the area, and nice and helpful staff as a bonus. It is very close to the main square of Stresa, but facing a quiet street, so no noise is coming in
The room was large and you had everything you needed. The staff was also really friendly and helpful. Oh and since it's Italy, one should mention: they actually do speak english and german perfectly
This is a very nice hotel just in front of the lake. Wonderful position to visit Stresa and the surrounding (islands, Villa Pallavicino, etc). Very clean and with very nice staff ready to help you.
This special boutique hotel was wonderful and exceeded our expectations! The staff was wonderful
And made os feel so very special. Thank you for making our visit to Isola Bella so memorable!
Small boutique hotel overlooking the port (ferry to Iola Bella and other Borromeo islands) and lake, nice artsy design choices, nice breakfast severed also in suites with balcony.
A beautiful hotel, the picture only begins to describe the beauty...
We had dinner in the restaurant it was great and so was the breakfast that was included with the room.
Great pool area and terrace for a light lunch. Friendly welcoming staff. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Italy. Everything clean and maintained.
