Second time we stay in this hotel when visiting the Venice Biënnale.
We find it the best location to visit Venice if not actually staying on the Island (which would cost at least twice as much)
The train station is a 2 minute walk, as is the bus stop for travelling to Venice (train is far more comfortable than the bus which is often very full and gets delayed in traffic).
Nice modern and clean rooms, excellent shower and bed.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Several decent restaurants just outside the hotel (but you should really try and have dinner on the Island, nothing beats that atmosphere!)

I had a late evening arrival at Venice Airport (later still as the BA flight was delayed) and an early morning departure from Mestre station so the location was ideal for my needs. The facilities were basic but perfectly adequate for a one night stop and breakfast was available sufficiently early for my needs.
With stylish contemporary design, NH Venezia Laguna Palace is set in 2 buildings, linked together by a transparent glass roof. A marina is also available.

Clean and tidy. It is a bit out of the way, supermarket close by but didnt see any restaurants close. Easy walk to train station. Breakfast was lovely and staff accommodating.

Loved the pool though the opening hours were restrictive. The shuttle bus into Venice was great and escaping the city at the end of the day. Staff were lovely.

The staff is perfect: polite and friendly. They allowed us to check out an hour-two later, without any extra payment, that was very kind of them.

Located just across the lagoon from the Venetian islands, Mestre is the mainland part of Venice and offers cheaper accommodation, with easy transport links to the historic centre. However, the city has more than just cheap hotels going for it.
Host to several festivals throughout the year, huge Parco San Giuliano offers fantastic views across the lagoon towards the Campanile and dome of St Mark’s Cathedral. Also worth a wander round is Forte Marghera, a former Austrian fortress on an island in the middle of star-shaped canals. One canal continues into the centre of the city and is lined with restaurants and bars.
Pavement cafes can also be found in Piazza Ferretto, a triangular square with a 12th-century clock tower at one end and the Teatro Toniolo at the other. This popular spot for a passegiata also has a modern fountain and several boutiques. Also good for shopping in Mestre is the Le Barche centre, a rather uninspiring building from the outside, but packed full of stores.
As for nightlife, Mestre has a number of clubs, including one at Tessera near to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Don’t fly out of there without having tried the little homemade cakes called ‘mignon’.

Mestre is a great option for those wanting to visit Venice without the additional expenses and hassles of staying in the island city per se. Public transit between Mestre and Venice is quick, reliable and convenient. Plus, Mestre itself is a beautiful city, with a wonderful pedestrian zone and piazza, lots of great shops and restaurants and a good, international feeling. We love Mestre.

Mestre sights are not really why you stay here, it's the convenice of venice. We stopped near train station which had a great 20min express bus ride to airport. I'm glad we did stay here rather then Venice as lugging bags in the narrow maze of venice's footpaths looked no fun at all, although there appears to be porter services of some kind. Travel from Mestre to venice can be crowded, but the buses are very regular ( 10 - 15 mins ) so aren't too bad , we found the 3 day pass for buses and water buses great. Just tap on. The trains are regular too, but found the ticketing confusing at first, you have to buy a ticket just before travel which makes it less convenient. We much preferred the bars in venice rather than mestre, although hotel bar was great, and as public transport ran after midnight ( including water buses) never had a problem getting back, so the small venice bacaro bars slightly off the beaten tracks were our first choice. Stayed first week in sept 2024

Mestre is very close to Venice. When we have stay in Venice there were always problems with the suitcases to reach hotel.
In Mestre we stay at the hotel across the train station and was very easy access to Venice.

What makes the Plaza so good is it's location.
What makes the Plaza so good is it's location. Great for an overnight stay to catch the train or bus. Both are basicaly just across the street so can easily walk with luggage.
They also have a good cafe for a meal. And breakfast is included & good.
The surrounding area is not great - but location good for overnight or a base for visiting Venice & the price is much better than in Venice proper. The train trip is only 10 minutes across the causeway to Venice.

The apartment is located in a really nice apartment building in a pretty nice neighbourhood. Everything inside the apartment is top notch and the host is incredibly helpful and professional. Excellent value for money.
The room was absolutely perfect! High quality room, with comfortable bed and perfectly cleaned! The stuff was very kind and willing to help us with every additional information we needed ! Outside of the hotel there is a bus station in which you can take the bus and reach Venezia in no more than 10 minutes! If I will visit Venice again I will definitely be back at this hotel!

- Process to pick up key is well organize (just tell estimate arrival time to Host, will has someone waiting for you).
The room and the bathroom is very clean! The location is excellent, just a 2-3 minutes walk from San Marco Sansovino Tram station. And the bus station is within 100 meters from the hotel. Perfect spot if you want to stay in Mestre and travel to Venice.
Second time in Mestre and it did not disappoint. The hotel is modern, clean, and well-located within walking distance to the train station to get to Venice. The bed was comfortable and the staff was polite and welcoming. We certainly recommend it!
Location was great. Walking distance from Venezia Mestre rail station which was super convenient. Loved the vibe of a & o and would definitely recommend younger travelers book here if you take a trip to Venice.
