The staff were really helpful, particularly Tilly. She helped us on numerous occasions find some GF restaurants and pointed us in the right direction. The rooftop is great, with nice sunset views over the city and reasonable drinks. Breakfast is decent, as is the service of staff. We never went swimming but the pool area and garden looked inviting. Good AC and they provide mosquito plugins during the Summer months.

We just returned from vacation in Italy and we stayed here during our trip in Florence. I liked the cleanliness of the room and hotel, overall. A great location, as the hotel is situated in a nice local and quiet neighbourhood. Some of the reviews were not great which unsettled me. Please be reassured that this hotel is nice, very clean and has friendly staff. Though it isn’t in the centre of Florence. The distance to the city centre is walkable but there is also a regular number 14 bus, that you can take and is a short 1 minute walk from the hotel and drops you off at all the major sites. Highly recommend this hotel!

Florence is a very beautiful city to visit.
Florence is a very beautiful city to visit. All the attractions are close by within walking distance. The restaurants were very good. All the sites for example Il Duomo, L' Accademia and the Uffizi Gallery are a must see. You must purchase your tickets in advance, otherwise you will have a long wait to get inside. We travelled in the spring, the month of May is one of the best times to travel as it not too hot or cold. For any sight seeing in Italy you will need to travel before it gets too hot, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy the sights comfortably.

Florence is beautiful and our hotel was well located so that we were able to walk almost everywhere. However, the tourists (as we were) are overwhelming. If you could possibly go in September or January I would highly recommend doing so. The swarms of people on the Ponte Vecchio were so horrible that we did not go. We did go into the hills surrounding Florence and that was wonderful. The people are great and I loved Florence---but the crowds were a bit too much. I would go back again but at a different time of year.

Beautiful city and people. Such a walkable city.
Beautiful city and people. Such a walkable city. The architecture, ironwork, door handles and fixtures, gardens, food, and sounds are so incredible. We stumbled upon opera singers giving a free performance in Santa Croce, toured the leather school, bought beautiful perfume from AquaFlor, and ate a lot! Recommend Gastone and Florentine steak at Fiaschetteria Cambi, and Mister Pizza : ) La Giostra is good and very charming but once we said no dessert, they were done with us, haha

A city worth visiting again and again.
A city worth visiting again and again. My second Time in Florence and still had a lot of things to see. Of course one must visit the obvious such as Ponte Vecchio or Uffizi Gallery but what is the most important thing while visiting Florence is to enjoy the city as a whole; history and beauty are everywhere so just keep your eyes open and wonder around. Don’t get a taxi but walk.

This was my second visit over the years, so I didn’t do too...
This was my second visit over the years, so I didn’t do too many museums and tourists’ attractions, which gave me plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the streets and magnificent buildings, and try to avoid the crowds. Three or fours days are enough to see most of the sights without running too much. I had eight days so I did one trip to Siena (1.5 hours by train) one to Pisa (50 mins by train), one to the beach at Viareggio (1h 45 mins by train) and one afternoon Chianti wine trip and degustation. The Tuscan countryside is magnificent! You definitely need to plan the visits of museums etc in advance as you simply can’t walk into the most famous ones (Duomo, Pantheon, Accademia, Uffizi etc) expecting to have access that day. One exception was Palazzo Pitti - I just bought a ticket there and walked in. Well worth the visit (buy joint ticket Palazzo and huge gardens!) stunning but not as popular as the most famous ones. You can pay fir a skip-the queue ticket fir major museums, it helps but you still have to queue. I’d recommend buying the Firenzecard valid for 3 days for €85 giving you access to all museums. Florence is a very busy city full of tourists but well worth visiting. Most sights are in walking distance. Take a little boat trip on the Arno, nothing major but a pleasant hour before the aperitivo! A little pricey (€25) for what it really is, was cheaper in Rome, but enjoyable all the same. Make sure to walk up the hill (20/25 mins) to Piazza Michelangelo for stunning views of the city. Well worth the effort. If you want ‘real’ Italian / Florentine food, avoid tourists restaurants around famous sights that serve food all day. There are many local restaurants in small side streets. Remember Italian eat later than the USA/UK fir instance, after 7pm, but during the day plenty of places to snack. Night life is also vibrant, venture into remote streets and little piazzas… Florence is my favourite city.
The room was very basic but was clean and had everything we needed for our three day trip in Florence. The location is near the train station and we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good and there was a good selection for such a basic hotel in Italy. At night we were able to sit on a terrace and enjoy a drink. There was no issue with noise anywhere in the hotel. Considering how packed Florence was, I felt we got the room for a good price. I would stay there again.
What a wonderful surprise! This very economical hotel, right in the heart of lively Florence neighborhood, left me amazed and delighted. I thought that the affordable price might mean sacrificing comfort or tranquility but that was not the case at all. The noise-canceling windows and the perfect AC gave me some of the best nights of sleep during my entire stay in Italy. The folks who work there are also friendly and very helpful. I can’t wait to go back!
Hotel La Scaletta Al Ponte Vecchio was our favorite location on our journey through Italy. The location was convenient, the beds were extremely comfortable, and our garden view room was quiet and peaceful. My mom and I loved starting our day with a coffee enjoying the gorgeous panoramic view. Breakfast was fantastic…so many choices and great quality, The staff went above and beyond to help us and we will definitely be back!
I had come to Florence to help settle my daughter into university and I had also travelled to other parts of Italy for my mother in laws funeral, i was sad and emotional and the staff at this hotel especially Willy at reception really helped me to heal and feel excited of being in a new city.
Amazing service and a massive thank you to Willy, you really helped me and it was an honor to meet you :-) Special person
Everything! Such a lovely authentic place with great hosts, Daniel & Alyssa. We felt as if we were in Italy all the time rather than only once we got outside of the usual generic hotel. (A trip highlight was our host’s recommendation that we also try visiting the lesser known Lucca on a day we were going to visit Pisa & we loved it so much we stayed there & didn’t bother with Pisa at all! - best tip ever!)
By far, this property was the best stay we’ve had during our 30-day Italy vacation. Our host, Andrea was very accommodating, made us feel at home right away. He gave us honest recommendations on places to go as well as restaurants (more for locals). His mom made daily breakfast with fresh pastries to die for. When in Florence, this is the place my husband and I will go back to stay in a heartbeat.
I LOVED the communication with the hotel management. The location was top tier as well! Valet is available and hotel management will contact valet for you. We stayed at this hotel twice because of the hospitality of the hotel. We loved the room and the bathroom was a lot bigger than hotels you stay at in Italy. The jacuzzi tub was the cherry on top after exploring the beautiful city of Florence!
Lovely B&B in Firenze. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and offered lots of options, best breakfast we had in Italy :) The location is quite far from the main centre of Florence (a 30min walk), however there are bus stops nearby the B&B that go to the train station, city centre, and also to Piazale Michaelangelo (amazing views over the city).
Without a doubt the best party we had in Italy! The residence is beautiful, very well decorated, the rooms and bathrooms are large, beds and showers are excellent. The staff is super kind and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, and of course, the cute dogs are delightful company. We will definitely be back and we will recommend it to everyone who stays in Florence 🙂
Alessandro is the kindest man you’ll meet in Italy! I am a study abroad student, so I wanted to book a place near the city center for my family when they came to visit. Their stay was perfect, and the breakfast was great. From start to finish, the experience at B&B Dell’Olio was AMAZING. I will make many trips to Florence in the future and will book here each time!
Rocco was a magnificent host! he
was there to greet us at check in.
he prepared the most fabulous breakfast
each morning with the best cappuccino
that we had in Italy! The property was close
to every place that we wanted to see
in Florence. I would definitely recommend

The apartment is spacious! I thought it would be small rooms but no. The best stay for our Italy trip! It’s within walking distance to everywhere, less than 30min. Great recommendations from the host regarding food, transportation, attractions😊 definitely will book again when we come Florence next time
Location location location! Literally 30m from one of the main piazza’s, perfect location to explore Florence central. Beautiful cosy appt, very clean and tidy.
Great communication leading up to the stay and recommendations for parking which helped immensely.
Best place I stayed in Italy on my trip.
Was very clean, Marina (the manager) was polite and very cute. Is not far from city center (about 20 minutes on foot). Is important to mention that the rooms have air conditioning (is indispensable in summer time, especially in Italy :)). Everything was perfect, I definitely recommend this hotel!
Beautiful hotel. Great location. I was traveling with my 2 grandsons, 17 and 12. We had a lovely, spacious room with 3 twin beds. Perfect!! The breakfast buffet was sumptuous. Patio dining looked out over a garden. Italy at its best!! Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
It is about a 30 minute walk to most attractions that would you would want to see in Florence. Good pool, great view from the pool. Breakfast was basic for an Italy inclusive (this is our 4th Italy Hotel this trip).
Pool was great for getting out of the hot august sun.
Welcoming from the moment we entered the hotel. Lemon water. Kind staff. Informative. Beautiful room. Fruit and water. Most comfortable bed we’ve had in Italy. Quiet and well appointed. Delicious breakfast. Generous checkout time.
Everything! Location, facility, comfort and cleanliness. Nicola at the reception is a great asset to this hotel. He went out of his way to make sure we enjoy our trip in Italy (not only in Florence)
The Hotel was in a great location near the Florence Airport. The Hotel also had an amazing outdoor patio where we ate an amazing dinner. Great place to relax after our 14 day tour of Italy.
