Pahalgam is beautiful. Like most of kashmir, its about the views. Book a good hotel and enjoy the leisurely pace. We all felt 3 days is good for this place.
Also don't miss abc valley accessible by taxi (rates are fixed by taxi union). Aru valley and Chandanwari are worth it in april. Betaab valley is lovely, its free to see from top when you go to chandanwari. If you have time you can go down to the valley.
**Take some food if you have a special diet. ABC valley takes more than half day. they are quite close to each other.
Not much available in the valleys except maggie/ bhel/ packet chips.
we skipped baisaran valley as its only accessible by horse and the route is very rough for older people, slippery in rain and lots of horse poop. but I've heard the views are amazing.

There is a nexus of local cabs where they will charge you 2450 for ABC (Arru valley, Betaab valley and Chandanvadi) Our taxi guide took us to some random point 3 kms before Chandanvadi and then took us to Betaab valley and said that the road to Arru valley is shut when someone else went there. So overall felt cheated

I stayed for two short days but I had a wholesome time in there visiting ABC valley. It was the first day of the first snow 2023 and everything looked perfect with hints of autumn still there on the trees. I was blessed.

There was no heating system.
There was no heating system. On the second day of our stay they provided us with an electric blanket but at first tried to avoid it by warning us that it was dangerous to use an electric blanket. Toiletries were limited to a tiny bar of soap. There was no one around most of the time to ask for anything. You have to ask for everything including the mirror in the bathroom which they brought and hung on the wall after asking. They provide homemade food if you ask well ahead of time and serve it on a table in the common space between the rooms.

One must visit Baisaran and Tulian lake in Pahalgam.
One must visit Baisaran and Tulian lake in Pahalgam.
These two spots are less explored and hence less crowded but in no way less beautiful than any other
popular tourist destinations (Like Aru Valley or Betab Valley) in Kashmir. In my opinion, both are moderately difficult treks and a local guide could be of great help for such hikes. It just saves time and energy to a large extent.
Also, it is important to start early in the morning, especially for the Tulian Lake trek.
In general, I prefer hiking to sitting on a pony while climbing mountains.
Sitting on horseback is not the most pleasant experience for beginner riders but also one gets a chance to observe nature much better while walking on foot.

If you are having sort of time during your Kashmir visit...
If you are having sort of time during your Kashmir visit then directly go for a night stay in Srinagar and gulmarg ( if there is snow fall ) And then move to pahalgam for 2N 2D for greater experience as the sight and scene of pahalgam is far better than gulmarg and sonmarg
This is a very old hotel in Pahalgam and few of the things will remind you of that.
The best part of the hotel is the location and the scenic view from the rooms.
The rooms are adequate and spacious. The room heater in specific was better than other hotels, it made the room warm without making it suffocating.
The restaurant and food are decent.
In the morning, there are vans and horses just outside the hotel for the Pahalgam sightseeing. There is no need to have a vehicle of your own.
The immediate thing that you notice as you enter is the Huge lobby which is extremely well done and swanky. The staff was courteous and helped us very well to our rooms. The rooms are quite well done, well lit and very comfortable. Centrally heated, it is a must in the months of January. The kitchen staff and the waiters too are very likeable and again tended to our every request. It is a brilliant hotel and definitely worth a stay.
Location and view, owner polite, not trying to push trips, owner will order you a lower price private taxi ( than the tourist taxi prices on Pahalgam) only if you ask him, wifi very good, I could run my amazon firestick and media apps of his WiFi, property has a generator to supplement electricity in power cuts. Big bathroom with hot water geezer ( boiler), food was good.
Shops and restaurants 10 minute walk from guest house
Very helpful staff who made my stay at the hotel stress free, thank you! They always responded quickly to all my questions with clear answeres and were helpful in arranging cabs at short notice. All staff members are well aware of the policies. The room was clean and well-maintained hygenic washrooms. This hotel is a safe bet in my opinion.
The host was very kind, humble and helpful.
He was very responsive .It felt like he was part of the family.
He provided us with all the necessary in's and out's of Pahalgam. He also helped us in getting the real native local experience .

Good hotel located near to main road and food options available at walking distance, approx a kilometre from main market Pahalgam but better to stay at this location.
Rooms are ok with minimal facilities.
Value for money in this price range.
THE HOTEL WAS NEAT N CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.. THE BREAKFAST N DINNER OPTIONS GIVEN WERE ALSO VERY NICE.. WORTH EVERY RUPEE SPENT.. THE STAFF THERE WERE TOO COURTEOUS AND VERY FRIENDLY N HELPFUL
Simply wonderful! Adil and the other caretaker- they are so nice and welcoming! Highly recommended property if you are travelling to Pahalgam with family. Scenic views all around. Must visit!
this hotel is awesome, location is cool , they are on the front side of the river , mountain view rooms, I really enjoyed there. staff is very much helpful especially there manager aamir
A well furnished and spacious room was allotted to us after a smooth check-in process. Finding the hotel was a hassle-free thing. Room service was pretty quick. Would surely recommend
Great location & food was very tasty. The quantity of food are very higher as compared to other hotels. We have ordered food for 4 person, but it quantity was for six person.
Basic but everything a budget traveller needs. Electric blanket and power on overnight. In the village area, around a half hour walk up from Pahalgam market.
