Amritsar is one of the friendliest cities I have visited in India. The Golden Temple is equal to the Taj Mahal in beauty and an oasis of calm and peace. We also found the people here to be so friendly and welcoming. And don’t forget to buy some jutti’s (Indian slippers). There are shops lining the street to the Golden temple. At $6 Australian they were a bargain and a fun reminder of an amazing city.
Stay at Ranjit’s Svaasa…it’s fabulous.

Please people be careful when visiting Golden Temple. I was standing in que to go inside ..the que was 3 hour wait! But worst experience was that we got pushed from behind forcefully! I ended up with a heavy person stepping in my toes. Now have muscle torn and bruising...limping for rest of my holiday! ☹️😥
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Amritsar and it was great! The place was super clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was top-notch authentic. Seriously, can't say enough good things about it. Oh, and the Amritsari kulcha? Absolutely delicious! Shoutout to Rita and Rajendra who took care of us one evening—they were so nice and hospitable. Honestly, the whole team at the hotel was amazing, even though I didn't catch everyone's name.
Rooms, cleanliness & staff everything was perfect its a blend of everything. Serves you with 3* facilities. Staff is doing amazing job. Best place to stay around Golden Temple. Just 10 minutes walk. The staff is humble and professional.

Courteous and decent staff well dressed. The Location is superb near Golden Temple and Main touristy places. Well connected to local street food and Cloth market. We got our both rooms early at 11 am. Hotel concierge arranged our day tour to border retreat ceremony. This area was very busy but so intrested.
Location of the hotel is very good... Just 5 min walk to golden temple.. surrounding atmosphere was very pleasant...care taker and owner is very humble and helpful.. Thanks to booking.com for giving fabulous discount...i would personally recommend everyone to stay at GR residency if visiting Amritsar.
