Please people be careful when visiting Golden Temple. I was standing in que to go inside ..the que was 3 hour wait! But worst experience was that we got pushed from behind forcefully! I ended up with a heavy person stepping in my toes. Now have muscle torn and bruising...limping for rest of my holiday! ☹️😥

The city is filled with tricksters everywhere. Right from auto guys to shopkeepers, everyone will cheat you if you are not careful. Bargain well for everything ! Don't miss the 700 yrs old durgiana temple which is a smaller replica of the Golden temple ! Malls are far away and the main area around the Golden temple is chaotic, dusty and ancient !

Amritsar is a significant place in the history of India and I was very pleased to finally visit there and visit the Golden Temple, Jallianwallah Bagh and the Partition Museum to gain an understanding of the complex history of the time around Independence. As a foreigner born in one of the 'colonies' understanding history is important for locating ourselves in chains of events that impact later generations. I am deeply moved by the tragedy of the Partition and the untold and unimaginable loss. It is important that we acknowledge the past as it shapes our ability to move forward.
Hotel is location in the heart of the city, its merely 10 mins walk to the holy place “the golden temple”. Right across the hotel is busy market from where you can buy different kind of amritsari traditional things like punjabi jutti, phulkari, suits and what not. Also, when you enter the city the hotel isn’t that far away. It took us less than 10 mins to reach our hotel from the hall gate. Hotel is so nice and beautiful from inside. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is very courteous. Check in and out didn’t take much time.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Amritsar and it was great! The place was super clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was top-notch authentic. Seriously, can't say enough good things about it. Oh, and the Amritsari kulcha? Absolutely delicious! Shoutout to Rita and Rajendra who took care of us one evening—they were so nice and hospitable. Honestly, the whole team at the hotel was amazing, even though I didn't catch everyone's name.
We'd wonderful and memorable experience during our stay at Hotel Hampton, Amritsar. Hotel entrance was bit surprising. The room was immaculate, Modern featuring and Refreshed. We were right in the heart of the city, Few steps away from its sacred part the Golden Temple.
The Staff were exceptionally welcoming, Passing positive vibes. Definitely we are recommending Hampton for a comfortable and convenient stay at Amritsar.

Courteous and decent staff well dressed. The Location is superb near Golden Temple and Main touristy places. Well connected to local street food and Cloth market. We got our both rooms early at 11 am. Hotel concierge arranged our day tour to border retreat ceremony. This area was very busy but so intrested.
