Please people be careful when visiting Golden Temple. I was standing in que to go inside ..the que was 3 hour wait! But worst experience was that we got pushed from behind forcefully! I ended up with a heavy person stepping in my toes. Now have muscle torn and bruising...limping for rest of my holiday! ☹️😥

The city is filled with tricksters everywhere. Right from auto guys to shopkeepers, everyone will cheat you if you are not careful. Bargain well for everything ! Don't miss the 700 yrs old durgiana temple which is a smaller replica of the Golden temple ! Malls are far away and the main area around the Golden temple is chaotic, dusty and ancient !
Amritsar vk hotels is a very good hotel, I have stayed here for 2 days, I have got very good service or the staff has been very helpful, the food is very good, this is what I would like for any tourist to stay here or the reception is near the golden temple. The hotel location is near golden temple around 200 meters from back entry or Langar hall. Though the location is not easily reachable as the Punjab police has blocked the roads going towards Harmandir Sahib/Golden temple. You can still reach the hotel by Autorickshaw by entering through Sultan gate near the hotel. Tarun at the reception was friendly and even took us to wagah border at a reasonable price.
