Little Rock Retreat, hotel in Westmeath

Featuring garden views, Little Rock Retreat offers accommodation with a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge, around 18 km from Mullingar Arts Centre.

This was the most beautiful and quaint place we have ever stayed in. It had everything! It was so beautiful inside and outside. The standard of cleaniness and comfort was unreal. The hot tub was superb and to top it all off....solar lights lit up this gorgeous little cottage at night. We loved it so.much we have already booked to go back in August. This spot is so worth the visit. My kids adored this little cottage on the hill.

Mullingar Park Hotel, hotel in Westmeath

Contemporary 4-star Mullingar Park Hotel offers a restaurant, leisure club and stylish rooms with free Wi-Fi.

The receptionist after arriving in from a long day's work at 6.40 pm was extremely courteous, explained all the closing times for food, swimming, etc so i could plan my evening. After admin sorted in my room, wifi excellent, I chose the pool as time was against me, the facilities in the spa are top class and as I had only 30 minutes the staff were extremely helpful (closing time 9.00, you come downstairs in some hotels and they turn off the sauna etc at 8.45 and open doors of same so you lose even the residual heat contained). Not here though, got to swim, sauna, and use the high pressure jets until 9.00 pm. Slightly hungry then when coming down to the bar after, the barman couldn't be more helpful in getting me a small bit of cold food.

Annebrook House Hotel, hotel in Westmeath

Overlooking 10 acres of town park, Annebrook House Hotel is located in the centre of Mullingar.

The hotel is easy to find situated on the main shopping street in Mullingar, there is ample parking for guests. The room was large and airey and faced East, thankfully the curtains were lined so the early morning sun didn't wake me at 04.00hrs. Breakfast was in the restaurant downstairs, there was a good choice of cooked and continental options which should suit 99% (There's always some that want the impossible ie larks tongues in aspic etc) and all the staff that we interacted with were courteous and friendly.

Perfect place to stay upon your arrival to Dublin or on your way out to the airport the following day. Just under an hour from the international airport, so you can ease your way into driving on the "wrong side" of the road and eliminate tackling the adjustment in the middle of the city (save that for later in your trip, my advice) So just heading west for a bit and then off the motorway for just a few minutes and you are here at this gorgeous property. The owners could not be nicer nor more accomodating. Very comfortable rooms, lovely sitting room with a cozy fire going, tea cake served in the afternoon and the *best* Irish breakfast going in ten counties, I swear! I just love the Templemacateer House. Farm animals are the bonus feature, too.
