Having the whole apartment to ourselves was wonderful. We were able to make a home cooked dinner and relax. It is a 10-15 min walk to town which has a few pubs but the walk back is all up hill.

Teelin in a good location to start your walks for the Sleeve League. The whole surrounding is just amazing if you like to be outside in the nature and discover new places.
You can travel around the smaller villages and you are also not too far to see Donegal town and Killybegs too was really close and I would say was a sweet village.

Teelin is tiny.
Teelin is tiny. You need to book well beforehand if you want a boat trip to the Sliabh Liag cliffs which are magnificent. It could be lumpy at sea so be aware what you’re doing. Nice cafe and interpretive centre nearby. Limited official parking encourages you to walk up the hill. There is parking up the hill but it’s precarious in spots. A shuttle bus would be ideal post Covid. Friendly people in Donegal with an attitude of “No problem at all!” Rusty Mackerel a great but busy pub restaurant. Visit the “Wild Atlantic Tae” in Carrick even for the name of it alone! 🤣

The Rusty Mackerel is perfect for an overnight or longer when visiting the area. Very cosy ensuite bedrooms with powerful hot showers and only steps away from delicious food in the attached restaurant. We spent two nights, hiking Slieve League Cliffs, warming up by the open fire in the bar, chatting with locals and enjoyed two amazing dinners. We will be back!

People come here for the nature, the outdoors, this is truly spectacular, the village is small enough but there are quaint little coffee places and craft shops dotted throughout the area - just a really chilled vibe, really wonderful.

This Pub is classic but has been spiffed up.
This Pub is classic but has been spiffed up. It has rooms to let added to the rear. The rooms were small but immaculate and most modern. Great place to sleep and enjoy your pint without having to travel. There was even a local fella, Con, with his jacket and cap perched on “his” stool. Food was very good and breakfast available for those staying over at €10. Lovely spot to hike Slieve League and along Wild Atlantic Way
