If I had to give a score for staff friendliness it would be 10 out of 10. Advertised as a Hotel, it is a Pub with decent rooms attached. Breakfast is not served until 9-11am. Fine if one is in no hurry. It is in an ideal location for walks, some around Tinahely, the main one, the Wicklow Way. If you are a walker and want to get going early, make sure staff are there to provide breakfast, or get breakfast on your way! The bar has entertainment some evenings, one going on til past midnight, a second until 0145. If you are an early to bed person, not for you.

I was hiking the Wicklow Way and had an absolutely fantastic stay at Ballyteige lodge. It was one of my favourite places that I stayed in. A countryside gem with beautiful gardens. The house is very beautiful and full of character and steeped in history. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and an amazing evening meal was also provided which was a real treat. I highly recommend Ballyteige lodge and hope to return again. Thank you Sean for your warm hospitality.
