Coolcower House has the look and feel of a country mansion and is beautifully located in extensive grounds accessed by a long drive and overlooks the river. Wood panelled hallways, imposing stairwells and comfortable public rooms (including a lovely bar area). Although looking a little tired in places, it is a wonderfull place to stay.

Peaceful cottage is located southwest of Cork and is very central to attractions in the area. It is quite rustic, but that's exactly what we wanted, reminding us of one of our grandmother's farmhouse. There were just two of us, so there was all kinds of room for us and lots of parking for our vehicle. The cottage was very private, our only regular visitors being the heard of cows across the road.

Location was great for a large group of 20-somethings who don't want to worry about bothering other people at a hotel. We had a car, so getting around was easy as.

Just stayed on the hotel for one night - hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were really pleasant and breakfast was good. Bar Food was finished by 8.15pm which was a minor disappointment as we were late arrivals (arrived before 8.30pm)...but overall no issues with the accommodation.

Excellent gateway to west Cork and a destination in its own right by the Castle remnants of the MacCarthy Muskerry Lords of Gaelic Ireland, and along the Banks of the Sulán River. Perfect for visiting peaceful, stunning Gougane Barra, Máigh Cromtha, land of the Caoineadh Art O Laoghaire has it going on, nice cafe by Castle market gates too, also the nearby Ghaorthaidh , the only alluvial "drowned" forest in Europe , Paddy Hodnett the whiskey coinneuseur worth a shout into if travelling onto Inchydoney and the Clonakilty Distillery

As for pubs we went to goldens both nights as recommended by our taxi driver John Casey. Fantastic pub, friendly and fasinating decor. Friendly staff and locals.
We stayed at the loft, a little beautiful b&b, but a little far out of macroom so we used a great local Taxi, we used was Casey's taxis, reluable and very friendly.

Only went in to Macroom to eat, had dinner in the Castle Hotel and it was great. It was recommended by one of the staff where we were staying, outside Macroom, and it was well signposted once we got into Macroom. The car park in the Castle Hotel was a little tight though.

Very nice location for our few nights, good place to stay with lots of nice day trip to take from here. We had dinner one night in Granvilles which was the best meal of our whole trip to Ireland, highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay in Macroom at this B&B. This B&B is in a very tranquil setting and our studio cottage was very clean and had a magnificent view of the lake below. The kitchenette was stocked with tea, coffee, cereal, juice, milk and some sundry items for our enjoyment. Deirdre, the property owner, sent us directions via whatsapp and also made suggestions for restaurants. We wish we had planned to stay more than one night. Would love to go back sometime! Thank you, Deirdre, for the wonderful hospitality!
First cross county trip since recent lockdown restrictions lifted so a bit nervous stepping out again. However, every possible safety measure in place and the friendly welcome and chat with all staff was not lost behind the necessary face masks and safety measures, good to see young staff enjoy their workplace as much as the team in the Castle Hotel. Food choices excellent again as was the service. Quiet location at night so plenty of quality sleep and rest for touring around west Cork.
As a trained an experienced hotel and restaurant manager in the upper and luxury services I can assure Deirdre, our host, has a more profound hospitality sense than many fellow hoteliers, offering a more welcoming and full service experience that some 5 and 5 GL hotels. It was, out of four different similar accommodations we profit from in Ireland, the very best and a surprise if valuing quality vs price.
The Apple Lodge was so amazing. And our host literally thought of everything, going to great lengths to make our stay as comfort and accommodating as possible. The property is in the quiet countryside outside of the quaint little town of Macroom. It was a delight to see rabbits on the lawn and birds enjoying the water as we sat on the deck to watch the sunset/sunrise over the lake.
The Cannaway House is quite remote but worth the effort to get there. It's an elegant estate on a horse farm about 30 minutes from Cork with gorgeous views of the Irish landscape. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choices, served in a beautiful room on the ground floor. Our room was in the back, overlooking rolling green fields and the stay was very relaxing.
Excellent location in the countryside so a very nice and quiet location but close to Macroom. Our hosts were wonderful, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Cannaway is a fabulous house with clean and comfortable bedrooms. Breakfast was great with varied options. There is also a games, bar room for additional relaxation time. Thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay.
We were greeted by the host and shown to our accommodations. Our host was even able to secure a last minute reservation in a local restaurant. It is a lovely unit and the views are tremendous. We were pleased with the comfort and cleanliness of the unit. If ever back in Ireland, we would definitely stay there again.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and comfortable and the meals were wonderful. We had to stay an extra night here due to Storm Barra and feel really fortunate that we were in this hotel at the time.
Very friendly staff and country location beside the river Lee. Macroom is a couple of miles away with good restaurants, pubs and shops. The surrounding countryside is very scenic with Killarney about 45 minutes away by car.
The location was perfect for us. The rooms/beds were comfortable. There was plenty of hot water. The food was wonderful. And every staff member encountered was professional, warm and welcoming. Top notch hotel!
Everything. Deidre thought of everything to ensure a fantastic and comfortable stay. Spotless clean, private and very convenient to Macroom.
Would definitely like to return here and would definitely recommend.
Great hotel centrally located with a private carpark.
Room was spotless and very comfortable.
Fast WiFi for work purposes.
Staff friendly and accomdating.
Would recommend to others and stay again.
The location was lovely and peaceful. Short drive to Macroom. Staff were very friendly and the Lodge was perfect, a mirror in the bedroom would helpful 😂
