Barberstown Castle, hotel in Leixlip

Built in the 13th century, this elegant 4-star castle boasts individually decorated rooms and 20 acres of beautiful gardens.

We stayed for the Range Rover exhibition in the K Club on Wednesday and saw it was a lot more value for money than the K Club. I never stayed in this hotel and I think it was a really fantastic hotel. It is based on an old style castle and the junior suite we were in. It was really lovely a real Downton Abbey theam to it.

Natives very friendly. Great walks and places of nterested. Good service in local bar - Salmon leap. Also St Mary's GAA facility bar and entertainment very good. Where we stayed staff not welcoming or helpful. No communication. Weather bad but nothing can be done about that.

Leixlip is a small town, very friendly but Leixlip Manor was not up to scratch. We found a nice restaurant in Leixlip as the Leixlip Manor had no food for evening meal although we were advised it had. It was very disappointing, We were thankful we only stayed one night.

The only good thing about this hotel was the friendly receptionist that greeted us. The hotel is horrendouse. I would NOT recommend anyone to stay here and highly advise to consider alternative accommodation if you are considering staying here.

Hotel is in great location for liffey valley shopping centre. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good and evening dinner was good. Down side was bathroom shower hose sprayed out water went out onto floor. The sink stopper didn't work and also the toilet didn't flush very well. Had to put curtains up on window sill so the heat of radiator could get out.

Pretty little Irish village just outside Dublin iwth strong links to the Guinness family. Lovely walks along the river Liffey and countryside with plenty of pubs and dining options. Only 1/2 an hour by car from the airport, ferry terminals and Dublin City. 2 train stations with journey to Dublin also about 1/2 an hour and good value plus decent bus services. Liffey Valley shopping complex is also nearby. Overall providees the best of both worlds for a city/country stay

Good location, about 20 minutes from Dublin City (without traffic!) Leixlip Village is a 10 minute walk. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was adequate and all were very clean. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included with our rate and was excellent. Great view of the Dublin mountains from our room and from the grounds. The original walled garden is a nice stroll. St Catherine's park is close by was a very nice walk.

Grainne saved my life that day, mine and my tourist's too!;) We had no rooms to stay at the nearby hotel, and I found her place which is located in the same district - I love Leixlip neighborhood, it's nice and peaceful there, far away from Dublin crowd!:) And so was the lodge! Apart from that, as I had no place to go, Grainne let me stay - as she had no more apartments available - at her own house! Amazing hospitality!:))

I love my room. It is very clean, looks well maintained. Has the basic amenities and toiletries that is expected of a hotel (some hotels in Ireland doesn’t even have shampoo or hairdryer). Bed is comfy and room is full warm. Entire hotel looks bright and welcoming, corridors well lit.

Superb facilities, everything you need close by or directly located inside the hotel, like 2 bars to choose from and a restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful, and yet professional. The suite was fantastic, well appointed, and clean. Would definitely stay here again.
