It was a big surprise that we were actually sleeping in a lodge inside a farm, with many cows as our neighbors! Gwyneth was very caring and always tried her best to help. The room was big, clean and well-equipped. The hidden pantry, disguised as a wardrobe, was another surprise to us. Preparing breakfast on our own with all the provisions was fun.

how helpful the staff was the bedroom was absolutely fantastic
With a private beach, the family-run Dunmore House Hotel is situated on the south west coast of Ireland. free Wi-Fi, along with a bar and a restaurant.
Kilbrittain was a lovely find. Small enough to be uncrowded and quiet, but close to so many things that we were wanting to see and do. The rural area can be a bit confusing if you are not familiar with it (we were not) So I would suggest a GPS or at least a very good map. We had one and got lost anyway, but found our way with the help of a friendly local. West Cork is incredibly beautiful with stunning views around every bend in the road. Inchadoney Beach is not to be missed! And a very good meal can be had at The Lifeboat Inn in the small town of Courtmacsherry- about ten miles away.

Noreen was more than helpful.
Noreen was more than helpful. I had a few questions before we arrived and they were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. Also found that timings were extremely flexible to cater to our fishing needs, which I covered in an earlier question.
This is a very nice home and you’ll be really well looked after.

The whole area was beautiful, long winding lanes along the side of the rivers. Little fishing villages with colourful cottages. We saw lots of birds including herons and oyster catchers, looking for food in the mud. We ate at Hurleys in Ballinspittle, and The Pink Elephant. Both gave us good meals which we enjoyed.
