Catherine the homeowner is a lovely lady, she made us feel very welcome in her home, and she was fantastic with suggestions be it things to do, or directions in getting around the city. We stayed here for 2 nights, we were going to a concert in St Annes Park. This was the perfect location to walk down to the park, and also getting back after the concert. The walk was roughly 30 mins. It was extremely convenient for what we were looking for. We stayed in a large room with 4 single beds, and there is a bathroom in the room also. The room was lovely and clean and indeed so was the bathroom. We knew we were booking ‘room only’ in advance, and although breakfast isnt provided, there is a small fridge, a kettle and a toaster provided in the room which was very helpful. The accommodation has wifi, a large tv and a gorgeous patio area with table and chairs.
I loved this little coastal town! Walk out to the lighthouse and walk the cliff walk. Have tea at the Dog House! Check out Abby Tavern...I ate there twice and stayed late for the local Irish music. It's a walkable town with shops and restaurants. But also nice to just sit and take it all in!

Howth is the place to stay when visiting Dublin.
Howth is the place to stay when visiting Dublin. Just 30 minutes by train away from he city centre, it is a small but beautiful town on a penninsula surrounded with cliffs and seagull collonies. Many great pubs and restuarants, fantastic views and, contrary to Dublin - the calm and peaceful atmosphere where you can really relax.

I did not know what to expect as we booked last minute to go to a concert in Malahide. Howth is a beautiful seaside town with lots on offer (restaurants, bars, cafes etc...) We hope to return in the near future to spend more time there. Great for couples & families. A bit hilly in places so you need to have good mobility if you want to explore or stay slightly out of town. I visited a beautiful cove in the morning time where there were lots of swimmers in the sea & it was so peaceful...great way to start the day.

Location: This was the first time we were setting foot on Irish soil. King Sitric in Howth was the first place we headed to from Dublin Airport. No regrets! So much to see and do in Howth. Charming views in every direction. So much to take in.
Transport: A short taxi ride or walk to the train station. Buses stop less than 100m from the hotel. I think one even passes right in front of the hotel.
People: The Irish are the best. Everywhere, they seem to be so welcoming and genuine.
Hotel and Rooms: Interesting history. It should be promoted more. Pleasant and friendly staff. Our room was steps from the ocean. What a lovely welcome to a lovely country. The room had nice little touches. Loved the in-room Nespresso & chocs. Nice hot showers.
Food: Amazingly fresh seafood in the restaurant downstairs for dinner (apparently caught by local fisherman in the sea right outside our room) and upstairs for guests' breakfasts; the menu items were well-chosen. Fish is also an option for breakfast! Found it strange though that so little bread is given, as there's so much rich and flavourful sauce to lap up. We even paid for more bread, but again it was just one tiny slice of bread. Maybe it's an Irish thing?
Pricing: We found Ireland in general to be very expensive, from hotels to food to shopping.

Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants.
Cliff walk, buzz of day trippers, cafes and restaurants. Everything well maintained. Initially had trouble getting a pre dinner drink as most bars.taverns are booking their tables for diners. We were put out in the cold in O'Connells! Finally hit on The Harbour Bar which was lovely.
The owner was so kind and caring. The location was amazing! Close to the cliff trail. Enjoyed the fresh sea air. The decor of King Sitric is so beautiful. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room is well equipped with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and toiletries. Shower with plenty of power and hot water. Make time to have the yummy breakfast in the hotel dining area over looking the ocean. Also their restaurant food was amazing. It is a short walk from the train station through beautiful Howth village. Everyone is so friendly their.
Sean was an amazing man.... So friendly, chatty and helpful. We were in Howth for a funeral and he was able to help others with accommodation last minute. He went out his way to make this happen.... Couldn't have asked for a better host! With us; he made us feel very welcome and cooked a great breakfast for us.
The guest house is a typical Irish home.... He was happy to give details of the property's history. His home is clean, tidy and a classic Irish warren! I loved it.
Thank you Sean... So very much for your kindness.
The house was in an amazing location in Howth. The house was wonderful and extremely well equipped for every eventuality, including a prolonged power cut on Thursday night - we were able to find night lights and light a fire to keep warm while the electricity was out. The house is comfortable and very tastefully decorated you can tell that utensils, homeware etc. was good quality. There was no need for anything, everything that you needed for a visit was provided.
The room was clean with robes and even slippers. The room had beautiful views of the bay. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful. The breakfast was very good. They even arranged a chauffeur on short notice for us. The beds were comfortable. The restaurant was very good. The hotel is located right on the bay. It is close to the Dart train station. Easy ride into Dublin. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Dublin.
Room was comfortable and very clean. Check in process was quick and without issue. We had an Ocean view from our room on the main floor, but rooms on the 2nd floor would have a much better view of the Ocean. That being said, you can simply walk outside of the hotel and the Ocean is literally right in front of you! Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Home made bread, yogurt, option to have a full Irish breakfast as well (don't skip this option).
The complimentary breakfast, including a full Irish breakfast prepared by the host, was a good way to start the day. The host also has good knowledge of the surrounding area, e.g. for recommending places serving food and about the landscape and nature. I dedicated my stay in Howth to hiking the trails that loop around and criss-cross the peninsula, and I found that the B&B is well positioned for both setting off and finishing those walks.
Everything about this stay was wonderful. Séan was extremely kind and welcoming and the place and location were perfect. Breakfast was the best I had in all of Ireland and the location near the cliffs and town could not be beat. I hope to be back in Howth so that I can stay here again, as it is clear that the b&b business is a labor of love here.
Sean was an amazing host. He was friendly & knowledgeable about the area. The location was convenient for exploring Howth, the Cliff Walk, and harbour shops/restaurants. 30 min drive from the airport. Beds were comfortable. Showers were hot. Breakfast was hot, fresh, & made to order. Onsite parking.
We loved the location, right by the sea. Joan greeted us and was so friendly.
The room was on the ground floor, and was a lovely light room.
The young woman who served us breakfast was delightful.
We loved Howth and will definitely visit again, and we will stay at King Sitric.
The breakfast was fantastic, we were served a full Irish breakfast with sausage, bacon, fried eggs, black and white pudding and a selection of cereals/yogurts. The Location was good, out of the city a ways in a quiet residential area but had some restaurants nearby.
Location fantastic, pretty village, easy to get into Dublin centre. Hosts very flexible on our arrival, considering our plane was delayed 3 hours and we arrived much later than intended. Clean, spacious apartment. Would recommend.
One of the hidden gems in Ireland. The hotel was impeccable, the views amazing, the food/drink phenomenal...and the hosts caring. If you are looking for a getaway, or a unique stay while in the Dublin area, this is the place!
Great room, view, location, staff, and restaurant downstairs. Breakfast was also excellent! TV is modern, you can even login with your Netflix etc.
Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay at King Sitric in Howth! :-)
all 3 meals just delicious, all the staff, the location for walking in Howth, the location next to the sea, very nice room and the ammenities in the room
