The room was really well designed and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. It was great to be self sufficient, Siobhan was very helpful and even accommodated our coffee snobbery by providing a cafetière when asked.

The Lansdowne Kenmare, hotel in Glengarriff

Neidin is the Irish word for Kenmare and translates to Little Nest. A Little Nest is exactly what was envisaged in 1790 when The Lansdowne first opened its door.

The team at the Lansdowne are lovely and incredibly helpful. We were badly delayed and didn't arrive to the hotel until 2am. When we requested breakfast to the room in the morning after missing the order the night before that wasn't an issue. Really beautiful hotel and you cannot get a better location in Kenmare.

A beautiful village in its own right, Glengarriff is also central to several tours of the wider area. There are a couple of good pubs with music most nights in the summer as well as a couple of decent restaurants. The nature reserve in the woods is a fantastic place for a picnic. A great place for a family break.

The hotel has a beautiful location but I'm afraid to say it disappointed me for what was a 70th birthday gift to my mother. Starting with reception, we were met by the most unfriendly receptionist who had little to say in terms of a welcome or be of extra help. Similar can be said for her manner on checking out. Not a position for someone who has an attitude and is the first to meet and greet paying guests. The corridor floors to the bedroom were dirty and not vacuumed for the 2.5 days we were in the hotel. Bedroom was small, shabby and basic. Bathroom although renovated, will become run down if not cleaned thoroughly of soap scum and mould in the shower which are becoming evident. A cigarette butt was in the lift for 2 days. Cob webs were visible in the lobby and on corridors. On checking in at 3pm, the unfriendly receptionist advised when I asked, that there was no bar food being served until 5pm. When we returned at 7pm there was no table in the bar with the only alternative being the restaurant. Generally my experience of ECCLES is that is over rated, completely over priced and in dire need of an urgent face lift and a good deep clean. Credit to the young people in the breakfast room and restaurant who were cheerful and courteous and also kudos to the ladies in the Spa who are a breath of fresh air.

A lovely little town, with pubs and restaurants featuring excellent local seafood. The Bamboo Park is one of a kind in Ireland and well worth a visit. The Glengarriff Nature Reserve offers a variety of scenic and peaceful nature walks from the leisurely "River Walk" which is great for dogs as well all the way up to 4km longer hikes.

This hotel is in a very convenient place, for the many sights we wanted. Parking was easy which is always a bonus. We ate here on the second night my husband had duck he said it was truly great. My meal was faultless. We did not want breakfast, so we could get away for the day & have lunch on our travels.

Beautiful hotel, the owners and staff are amazing and cannot do enough to ensure their guests enjoy their stay. The food is fantastic and to sit under the fresh wisteria in their patio area is truly magical! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Glengarriff. Everything is on your doorstep, the bathrooms are bright and modern and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Casey’s has the intimacy of a family guesthouse with all the conveniences of a modern hotel, looking forward to our next visit!

The location was beautiful and very convenient to Glengarriff as well as surrounding places to walk and hike (or simply just to sit and be !). They are too many to list here but the highlights include the natural reserve forest and park, Sheep's Head, the Beara Way, Mizen Head, and Crookhaven & Barleycove. The breakfasts were also amazing and the welcome was warm. The hosts were available if needed, but we enjoyed feeling as if we were alone in the forest :) Our dog Teddy adored it !

Rugged Glen lives up to its name. A short distance outside Glengarriff and accessed by a country lane it is worth the drive.. Chris and Mary take great pride in welcoming their guests. Their house is comfortable with ample parking. Apart from location and quietness, breakfast at Rugged Glen is simply wonderful, don't miss it!
