This is a very nice hotel - Iocated close to Galway city and within a walk of the Salthill promenade but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The leisure facilities (pool, gym, etc.) are excellent and well maintained. We didn't try the restaurant, but the food in the bar\bistro was very nice and service was excellent, although (pet peeve) the selection of zero alcohol drinks was poor. Breakfast was also very good, and the breakfast room is lovely - bright and buzzy. The bedroom was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The air-conditioning was good and not intrusive, and Wifi was also good in the rooms. Special mention goes to the staff, who were friendly and helpful at all times and made our stay very pleasant.
The rooms feature a comfortable bed and a marble bathroom with designer toiletries. Rooms also feature a flat-screen chromecast TV, complimentary WiFi and press reader.

What wasn’t to like, all of the facilities were immaculate. The location is perfect close enough to be a part of the Galway experience, but still with enough privacy.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable and one of the best nights sleep on our holiday was had here.
The staff were all amazing, extremely friendly and made our stay seamless. The were incredibly accommodating with our very early check out departure they ensured car was ready and kind enough to supply coffee and some small snacks for breakfast.
It was an absolute pleasure and we hope to return to stay again in the future.

Welcoming Galway is a small city with fantastic nightlife and an infectious atmosphere. Outside of the Galway Arts Festival, there’s still plenty of live music in the Irish pubs to get the party started.
The Galway Races at Ballybrit Race Course west of Galway Airport attract a good crowd, as does Eyre Square, a green space with flags of previous ruling families who gave it its nickname - City of Tribes. To the south are cobbled streets housing brightly coloured shops and restaurants.
Sights in Galway include its cathedral and city museum which offers an interesting insight into the history of the city and Ireland. Lynch’s Castle is the last remaining 17th-century merchant house, and the Spanish Arch is a small section of city walls by the Corrib River, linking Galway Bay to huge Loch Corrib. Where river and ocean meet is Claddagh Park, a great spot for a picnic with a view.
Further around the coast is Salthill Promenade, home to Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s national aquarium, focussing on sealife off Irish shores. It’s a Christmas Day tradition to jump from Blackrock Diving Tower nearby into the icy Atlantic Ocean, though you may well spot some wag giving it a go.
Booking.com has an excellent range of Galway hotels, apartments and B&Bs to complete your stay.
Loved being able to walk to everything.
Very busy with people from all walks of life and lots of traditional musicians busking in the Latin Quarter. If you get a chance, go into Thomas Dillons Claddagh Ring shop in the Latin Quarter. Go through the door in the middle of the shop and you come into the "museum" part. It documents the early development and origins of the claddagh ring, which has become famous since Queen Victoria wore one. There was another door there and a gentleman came out as I was taking a photo of a description of what the claddagh stood for, hanging on that door. I later saw that it was Mr Dillon himself. He can been seen making the rings through a window from outside the shop. Well worth a visit and buy some lovely jewellery while you are there.
We walked along the river and into the Claddagh, and were fascinated by the Corrib tides and even saw a seal in the water. We then walked along the path to Mutton Island. We would love to have had more time to investigate these significant landmarks.
We loved how the roads were blocked off and tables and chairs were put out on the street for people to drink and eat in the late evening air. What a wonderful concept.
Galway has the craic and we heard and enjoyed out time there so much.

Galway is fine, but if you are going all the way to Ireland,...
Galway is fine, but if you are going all the way to Ireland, this isn't the kind of place you are hoping to see. It's a bustling city and would probably be a cool place to live, which lots of little boutique shops. But in terms of the culture and green fields and stuff people tend to look for in a trip to Ireland, Galway is short on them. Driving even a few miles leaves you in terrible traffic and no place to park.
Except, like all of Ireland, it does have a tiny castle every couple miles, which is just such an amazing thing.

We only spent 1 night, but wished for at least 1 more. Loved that a few pubs had earlier hours for traditional music, as we are not night owls (most pubs in Ireland start around 9, 9:30 pm; Galway had a few that started at 5:30 or 6 pm). Very colorful with lively music, lots of lovely shops and things to do.

Lesley gave us a warm welcome & let us explore the Galway area. There is a lot to see & do in that part of Ireland. My favorite place was a castle we toured. It was in a lovely rural setting, with rooms still intact. We also drove the Dingle peninsula & stopped in the town for lunch.
Beautiful hotel with really big rooms. We booked last minute to see a concert at the airport as it is down the road so the location was the best thing for us! Turns out the band we went to see were also staying at the hotel! Also the buss stop outside the hotel has a bus that takes you to the city centre for 1.90. The staff were really nice and helpful for information too.
Very friendlly, easy-going and accommodating hosts! We loved the location in Salthill, west of the city center, since more quiet, neverthelless easily to be reached by bus (15 minutes drive, stops in front of the hotel) or by walking (very nice 30 min walk on the promenade along the seaside).
The hotel is conveniently located in the city center, the staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good too. We loved the Christmas decoration!
