Serviceable B&B. Location is ok but nothing special although the hosts have done a love job with the gardens. Breakfast good.

Our stay at The Anvil was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were all super nice, but Liz truly stood out. She was amazing, taking her time to give us detailed tips on the best places to visit. Her recommendations really made our trip special.
The rooms were spotless and exceptionally clean, and the fantastic food we absolutely loved. Everything about our stay was just perfect. Highly recommend it to anyone!

We stayed four nights in the suite. Very spaceous with an extra „reading“ room. Perfectly equipped with an outstanding breakfast. It is such a silent place. Perfect to relax. Tim is a great host and gives very detailled information about the area and recommended a couple of tours.

We' ve stayed for 8 days in this holiday home and had the most wonderful time. The apartment is so comfortable and had everything we needed, even for our little daughter (high chair, toys, Mini bathtub, ...) Our host Cathy was always available if we had and questions and we can just thank her for the great time. :)

Beautiful accommodation, as good as any 5 star hotel. John made me a superb breakfast, and gave me a lovely welcome. Will use in future when

One of the few hotels that can accommodate big families. The room was beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly. Such a lovely hotel.

The delicious food we had and the close proximity to Dingle and the beautiful drive around the peninsula.
I was happy with the accommodation and the local pub(s).
I was happy with the accommodation and the local pub(s). However, please note that this is all in a small hamlet called Boolteens, which is about 3 miles from Castlemaine, so you don't need to visit the latter!

I noticed the host had dried out another family's coats for them (yes, it was raining!). She was very welcoming.
The B & B was all you would hope for, and to top it, the restaurant/bar next door was great for food and relaxing in. (And, there's another bar over the road for Sky sports if you want to bet on a horse!)
Castlemaine has a statue of The Wild Colonial Boy.

We visited Tralee a few times and we were delighted with the places we ate. We had a lovely meal in both La Scala and Yummy. We also went to Camp, Castlegregory and visited The Maharees. We found our way home through the Connor Pass. The views were breath taking.

This was the 1st night of our stay in Ireland.
This was the 1st night of our stay in Ireland. Willie can't be matched for his knowledge of Ireland and hilarious stories. He is the epitome of a gracious Irishman and host. Our stay at Castlemaine was a great experience. People everywhere we went in the area were very friendly and helpful. Nearby Cobn was colorful and interesting. Dinner in the Commodore Hotel bar was delicious. More places to visit than we could squeeze in with two days.
A great base to explore the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney or Tralee. The breakfast is fab cooked by Tim who is an amazing host who goes the extra mile for his guests. He brought me a honey and lemon drink to help soothe a persistent cough. We were in the Mountain suite which has a separate sitting area with a TV and a wide selection of books. Tim had also provided a bottle of wine and some sparkling water in the fridge. I highly recommend a stay at Alderwood House.
Farm house is old but well kept, very charming and fresh decor. Our room was very cozy and had everything we needed to rest and be ready for our next day. I especially liked the ability to control the temperature of our room as we arrived soaking wet. Breakfast was home cooked, made to order and delicious. The town is very small, but the pubs are perfect for dinner.
The house, grounds and room were beautiful. The area was quiet, the bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean. The host was a lovely lady that we chatted with a bit before checking out. There were 4 of us traveling and 3 out of the 4 of us had problems getting connected to wifi - 2 of us had European phones and 2 were UK phones.
The location was great for exploring Kerry. Tim and Karen were excellent hosts, very helpful. The accomodation was great too, really nice having a sitting room as well as a bedroom, and lots of really nice touches. And I need to give a shout out to our 2 furry hosts who gave the friendliest welcome!
Great local pub. We chose it for the location because it sits right between the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. Our host was exceptional, warm greeting, thorough information, provided a wonderful breakfast, and then took the time to give us excellent advice for our day on Dingle.
The welcome from Bernadette made you feel like you had just got home, she was absolutely lovely and without asking gave us a lot of insight into our journey around Ireland. Wonderful stay in a beautiful, clean and homely feeling house. Couldn't recommend it highly enough traveller's.
quiet area to relax. perfect location to do Dingle Pass and Ring of Kerry. Hosts was very accommodating. made fresh brown bread which was left for us at check in. Made tarts fresh and again gave us a couple. Very accommodating! Would book again next time we are in Ireland!
Wow! What an amazing stay! The location was perfect for exploring the Ring of Kerry or Dingle. Our host, Catriona, was delightful. And tons of little extras were included that made the house a home. The room is much larger than the pictures look.
Fantastic location between Killarney/Ring of Kerry/MacGillycuddyReeks and the Dingle Peninsula/Brandon/InchBeach. Easy to find with a restaurant and pub right next door. Excellent breakfasts and a great shower.
Excellent place, spotless, very well equipped, comfortable , great location for exploring Killarney and the Ring of Kerry. Superb communication from hosts. Easy checkin and out. Looking forward to returning
A really comfortable house. Well equipped kitchen with washing machine and dryer. Private car parking/garden, ideal for evening BBQ! Great location for touring both Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry.
Castlemaine House is a great base to stay before doing the Dingle Peninsula. Easy to find, good parking, friendly helpful host, nice breakfast, and an excellent pub next door for dinner.
What a great experience. Stayed over night on a motorbike tour of Ireland. Couldn't of been made to feel more welcome. Room was great, food was great and the Guiness was great.
Very, very nice host, very well maintained property. Ideal B&B, B&B at its best. Very great location. Wonderful house. Great full Irish breakfast, all freshly prepared.
