Everything was great. Mentos the owner is such a character, super friendly, he went above and beyond for us. We booked our 17 islands boat tour with him which was amazing, and he arranged the bus to Ende for us. He made sure we had breakfast before our 7am bus. On the last night he offered us his scooter to go see the sunset. That was really kind of him, and was very appreciated. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

We had a lovely stay here. A very nice family runs the establishment and they were helpful and welcoming. The banana pancakes they served for breakfast were our favorite of the trip. While they don't currently serve dinner, there are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance with good service and delicious food. Overall very happy to have stayed here and would absolutely return!

Good place. Nice location close to the harbour and restaurants. Very very very nice owner!! He fixed our lock from our suitcase, Flores coffee during the day and in the evening long chats in the garden. The bed is amazing!

Beautiful surroundings. Very pleasant hosts. Comfortable rooms and very good food. Short walk to a nice beach for swimming.

Streets are in good condition or new, with few exceptions. Good for daytrips along the coast or traveling from town to town. Good connections to/from Bajawa by shared transport (100kIDR per person for one direction). Expect 150kIDR for long distance hops Labuan Bajo - Ruteng - Bajawa - Ende (3,5h each).

We hired a scooter from Labuan Bajo and zig-zagged across Flores to Maumere. We were not sure if we had time to include Riung in our itinerary but so grateful we did and could have stayed longer. Ruing is a unique, quiet seaside village and gateway to the magnificent 17 Islands. We were only made aware of two restaurants but went to the same one (Patto's) both nights because it was so good. Would highly recommend to spare a couple of days to relax and explore, wish we could have stayed a week.
