Mahakali, hotel in Kelimutu

Mahakali has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Kelimutu. This 1-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk.

Amazing people - helped with everything around starting from weather and directions to go to the transport when we had an accident. And the wife of the owner is just an amazing cook - the best Nasi and Mie Goreng we tried so far. The rooms are cosy and tidy, the linen was super, all the rest as well. Although we travelled as a pair, there was enough place for four in our room. Falling asleep to the sound of rain is just hilarious. From our experience - it's one of the best stays in Moni village.

For the price, I was very impressed with the room and the hospitality offered by Haja. She helped me organise transport to and from Kelimutu Lakes and transport back to Ende for a good price. The nasi goreng and mie goreng she cooked for me for breakfast was absolutely delicious as well. They are also right next door to Mopi's which is a popular place to drink and eat in Moni. Thank you Haja and all the best!

The Geckos Homestay, hotel in Kelimutu

The Geckos Homestay provides rooms in Kelimutu. This 2-star homestay offers luggage storage space. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service.

The homestay is down a smaller road 5-7 mins motorbike ride from town, so road noise was relatively minimal at night. Staff greeted us and gave us very helpful info about the town and Kelimutu. The sheets and towels were good quality and condition. The outdoor shower and toilet were in good condition and smelled nice. Hot shower was really hot. The room stayed nice and dry in the heavy rain. Very basic and rustic but overall not a bad stay.

JOSEPH GUEST HOUSE, hotel in Kelimutu

Situated in Kelimutu, JOSEPH GUEST HOUSE features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Rooms are fitted with a balcony with river views.

Joseph Guesthouse is a couple of simple, but comfortable rooms in a beautiful setting by the river. Billy was so friendly and a lot of fun. We stayed with our two teens, and it was so rainy we couldn't see Kelimutu that day. Billy offered for them the opportunity to paint a mural on his wall. It was such a wonderful experience! We can't wait to come back and totally recommend if you want a simple but comfortable stay that supports a local tourism business. 5th

Family Guest House Moni, hotel in Kelimutu

Located in Kelimutu, Family Guest House Moni provides a garden and terrace. Every room comes with a balcony with views of the city. The rooms at the guest house are equipped with a seating area.

Clean room and private bathroom and nice hosts. There is a hotspot to connect to as there is no WiFi in the whole of Moni, but it is not always on so would recommend having data. We could rent a motorbike from them to visit the 3 craters.

Great place worth viewing, I would recommend taking a picnic up there so you can spend more time there and have lunch they are plenty of different spots to wonder around l. The forest is beautiful which is something you don't really see when walking through in the dark for sunrise.

Very nice sunrise if the weather permits. Very marvelous view over the crater on the top of the hill. Walking a bit of the track is possible too if you would like to see a bit closer to the crater. The track is very easy!

We came to Kelimutu primarily for the crater lakes.

We came to Kelimutu primarily for the crater lakes. It was well worth getting up at 4am to get to Mount Kelimutu to experience the lakes at sunrise. We paid 150K each for entry fee and 5K for motorbike parking. The ticket is valid for the whole day. We had planned to return for sunset, however it was cloudy so we didnt. We also walked the arboretum, but it was overgrown and not maintained at all. Other highlights that we discovered whilst in Kelimutu: a village that did ikat weaving -it was lovely chatting in broken Indonesian with a family of weavers. We visited 2 small waterfalls directly opposite Santiago homestay; along the way, we had to use cute bamboo bridges and saw monkeys in the trees. We rode around on a motorbike and visited some traditional villages.

Beautiful. Go see the lakes at sunrise and stay until 10am.

Beautiful. Go see the lakes at sunrise and stay until 10am. For maximum nature experiences, you can take the 3 hour walk down to town (if your legs allow). The climb is short - maybe 15 minutes if you motorbike/drive up. There are other places to explore around, mostly hot springs, but Kelimutu was absolutely worth it. The people in the town are incredibly friendly - one even took me to a wedding, and I got to hang out with his sister all evening. Don't miss this spot in Flores.
