Where to start. The beach location is wonderful. The room that we had looked onto the beach and was just superb. Snorkling was great and the whole site was pretty quiet.
Staff are super helpful and friendly. This is a very special place. So much so that we cancelled plans for other spots and drove 5 hours back for another 4 day stay.

This hotel could be a destination just in itself! It's in a coconut plantation, of course, which is located right on the beach. The rooms are standalone bungalows with plenty of space in between, and designed and decorated in a completely whimsical and charming fashion. We couldn't stop taking pictures of it. The restaurant is good, the beach is good (when the tide is not out - it's shallow and muddy at low tide), and we really wished we could stay longer. Next time we're on Flores, we will 100% make a point to stay here.

I went island hopping and snorkeling at a couple of small islands near Maumere. The underwater scenery was beautiful. Healthy corals and schools of fish.
Maumere is a Catholic city. There's a big Jesus and Mother Mary statue. The traditional market is also interesting as you can find local woven fabric.
