Of course Marco and his very kind wife! The kitchen girls were very kind and our dear Alib who took care of the garden and so many other things in this wonderful place! The breakfast was super big, with an incredible variety, fruits, pancakes and tea or coffee, as well as local flavors with fried rice, vegetables, etc. The beaches, the port, as well as the village are very close. The bungalows comfortable and clean just like in the photos! Without asking, they offered to pick us up from the port, even though it's only a 7' walk. A little paradise that you can hardly find anywhere else. Ευχαριστούμε Μάρκο για όλα! Χριστόφορος και Κωνσταντίνος.

My recent stay at this homestay in Karimun Jawa was an absolute delight. The accommodation was impeccable, with a comfortable bed and a refreshing hot shower that was a welcome respite from the tropical heat and humidity.
The highlight of my stay was the exceptional hospitality of the host. They went out of their way to arrange every aspect of my trip, from snorkeling excursions to transportation. Their knowledge of the island and willingness to accommodate my requests made my experience truly unforgettable.
One of the most crucial amenities for a homestay in Karimun Jawa is air conditioning, and this homestay delivered. The AC worked flawlessly, providing a cool and comfortable sanctuary during the hot and muggy days. Equally important was the availability of a **hot shower**, which allowed me to wash away the salt and sand from my snorkeling adventures and relax in comfort.
The breakfast provided each morning was delicious and nutritious, giving me the energy I needed to explore the island's many wonders. Overall, my stay at this homestay was exceptional, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and memorable experience in Karimun Jawa.

We liked the quiet atmosphere and lack of development.
We liked the quiet atmosphere and lack of development.
We found the choices of restaurants quite poor
It was obvious the economy of the island was poorl as there were lots of unoccupied, poorymaintained properties.
We hated the litter and lack of cleanliness on the island.

it was a good place, but not worth the effort needed to reach the island. you should specifically arrange a private trip and ask them to bring you to good spot on the sea, or else they will put you on a public group and bring you to a sub par spots to avoid the group from thrashing the corals.

Nice beaches, clean water. Bobby's beach was our favorite.
Nice beaches, clean water. Bobby's beach was our favorite. Some beaches are located within walking distance, you'll need a scooter for the others.
You have to pay a cleaning fee to access some of the beaches but it's worth it, those beaches are spotless.
You could call the island authentic but beware what you wish for.
Not recommended for vegetarians or vegans.
Dishes advertised on the menu are often not available: the famous sorry no have.
Dirty general feel, open sewage in the center of the village, trash everywhere in town, and foul smell.
Some rooms don't have flushing toilets, sink or mirror in their bathrooms.
Worst of all are the mosques located every 100 meters, with their ear-deafening noise pollution that is guaranteed to wake you up at 4 am each day. No escaping them unless you stay outside the village but we've seen them in the middle of nowhere too.
Dirty rooms, particularly bathrooms. I had to scrub the toilet clean before we could use it, it was filthy.
And last but not least: the lack of hygiene in food preparation and sometimes what seems to be unlaundered bedsheets, pillowcases and blankets. Yuk

Karimunjawa is a real hidden gem.
Karimunjawa is a real hidden gem. It reminded me of the Gilli Islands 30 years ago. Hire a bike or scooter to get around and head down to watch the sunset . There is a really cool and friendly beach vibe, super friendly locals and some of the best white sandy beaches in Indonesia. You have to book in and do some tours of these islands, they are stunning! There is a night seafood market with pop up restaurants that serve superb food and fresh fruit smoothies. There are lots of cool little bars with live music in the evenings. Whether you are back packing through Indonesia or want a longer stay in a 5 star hotel, Karimunjawa has it all!

It's a beautiful island but we went at the wrong time.
It's a beautiful island but we went at the wrong time. Must avoid early January to late February. We actually got stuck on the island as the weather was too bad for the ferry to run, and the flights were fully booked...A 3 day visit turned into a week...of rain. Apart from that, amazing. TOP TIP...Hire a scooter

We came there in November 2019 and it was the best time to be there. Just a hand full of tourists, empty beaches and a chilled atmosphere. In the High Season it is pretty crowded there. The local people were really kind and there are many places to have good food. Indonesian food but also some places with kinda fancy food like smoothie bowls, etc., and a really good authentic western restaurant.
The beaches are really as beautiful as they look on pictures and the water is crystal clear.
There are many ATMs at the island and renting a scooter is also no problem.
Overall it is a really authentic island where you feel at home really quick.
