This was one of our most awaited stays of the trip, and it didn't disappoint. Each of the rooms are unique with features like a patio or an outdoor shower. The property itself is so beautiful. Nice yoga classes. Nice restaurant. And we had a view of the volcano from our room, and that never got old :)

The space is good and the room is very clean, the bed is comfortable and clean, there is tv and electric kettle in the room. The bathroom is a bit noisy as there are no windows. The shower was a little clogged and the water jets came out very strong in some places, but it gets hot. The environment of the inn is very beautiful, there are spaces with grass and swimming pools but I didn't go in because every time I passed by the pool it seemed a little cloudy.

We love Amed and Lipah Beach. It is easy to get around if you ride a scooter, and definitely need one if you want to move between the two. There are heaps of restaurants and warungs to choose from, most of which serve beautiful, tasty food at cheap prices. The road in Amed has been upgraded which makes for much easier walking and much less dust. There is nothing I would avoid ....

We stayed in Lipah beach, which is about a 40-50min walk from the center of the main Amed strip. The walk is not great and I would recommend hiring a scooter. There are some amazing coffee places and restaurants away from the main beaches and only a short scoot away.
Try Kopi di Tymor (coffee), See You Again Cafe (views and food), Wellness Hub & Spa (massage).
Amed is not too busy (for Bali) with plenty of great small restaurants and bars. The beaches are wonderful and the weather seems to be pretty reliable. Lipah is amazing. Very beautiful in its own little cove.
Snorkeling is the main thing with a few spots for coral and turtles. The beaches are full of boats with people offering to take you around to spots and people renting gear on the beach.

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area.
Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area. Good restaurants and bars. The sea is calm and lovely to swim in. I had a great time in Amed. Rimba and Galanga were my favourite places to eat. There is live music each evening in various bars. Taxi scooters are a cheap and easy way to get to places, and readily available.
The negative thing about Amed is the litter on the beach.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali.
To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali. Quiet, beautiful snorkeling, amazing nature and rice fields but still a simple laid back vibe. Lots of simple affordable warungs but also new coffee places (that serve meals throughout the day) with Scandinavian look
For snorkeling, we liked Jemeluk best, since it has beautiful corals and fish and a quiet sea.
Riding a scooter is easy and the roads are good.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.
Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food.
If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here.
It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid.
It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way.
There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores.
If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Beautiful snorkelling and diving.
Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.
- Location is perfect. Contrary to what booking indicates, there is not really a city centre in Amed. It is more of a long stretch along the coast. Bamboo Bali is right in the middle, and in front of the best snorkelling spots.
- Owner and staff were helpful, arranging transport from/to/within Amed. They also pointed us to a good diving school, helped us with the laundry, and rented snorkelling gear.
- Unlike some earlier reviews, the room was cleaned everyday.
- The Warung operated by Bamoo Bali at the beach is also pretty good.
The family running the homestay are all extremely kind. They welcome you as one of their own. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow that had a beautiful view of the sea. The included breakfast had many choices and included balinese coffee. The staff was always ready to help you in any way and we enjoyed speaking with them about their culture. Very good snorkeling right down the beach. We definitely recommend staying with them to relax and enjoy the small village atmosphere!
absolutely stunning accommodation on the hill side. it is a little out of Amed but the location is still a 10 min scooter from the center and has the better beach right out the front with amazing snorkeling. still has lots of great restaurants near. pool is very clean and has an excellent view. Breakfasts were big and delicious. nice and quiet, we had the top villa which is for sure the best if you’re okay to climb a few stairs.
outdoor shower was a highlight.
Well appointed 2 bedroom villa with fabulous views over Lipah Bay and the Bali Sea. The infinity pool that looks out over the bay is wonderful. There are 2 good restaurants within 50-60m that look directly over the bay and serve good food and drink. You can go snorkeling directly from the beach and there also outriggers that will sail you to other snorkelling spots and to the ideal spot to watch the sunset over Mt Agung. Will be back again!!😊
The room was clean and spacious. The shower had hot water and the air conditioner worked perfectly but the best part of our stay was the people. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We were always greeted with a smile, offered fresh coconuts in the morning and started our day with a delicious cup of traditional Balinese coffee. The beautiful city of Amed and the lovely people that live there will always hold a special place in my heart.
I really enjoyed staying at Wawa Wewe, the pool is great, the location is good within walking distance of quite a few good warungs and the bed was comfy. The air con in my room worked really well, I was there at peak wet season so I definitely needed it. The style of the grounds and rooms are what I think of when I think of Bali. Do not stay here if insects in the bathroom bother/worry you - it is open air so they will get in.
Very modern and clean accommodation. Quiet and just a few minutes to good restaurants as well as the beach.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
The food is nice, lots of options and high quality.
We did our dive course, Advanced Open Water Diver with Bali Reef Divers Amed here and the connection between dive course and resort was great.
We had a wonderful stay for a very fair price.
One of our favourite hotels in Bali so far! It’s in the perfect location for finding great food, coffee, dive shops and the beach. The staff were really attentive and polite. The property is SPOTLESS and so well maintained, someone was always cleaning which really made a difference to our experience (no bugs or dirty bathrooms to worry about!) The pool is so inviting and again very clean.
It was a wonderful place right by the ocean. But the best thing was the incredible warmly welcoming and helpful family running this beautiful home stay. They arranged the best snorkeling trip and a really great trip around Amed and they helped us with all we would and could need. They also served a great breakfast! I will definitely stay at this place again if we come back to Bali!!
Esther and her team provided us excellent service! A clean and cozy place where we felt at home!! Esther helped us with all activities we wanted to do in Amed, like trekking and snorkelling. She also gave the chance to meet some local people and really see how local Balinese people live, that was really an out of the ordinary excursion!! We totally recommend this place.
Absolutely my fav place in all of Bali. Home away from Home & family away from family, shout out to Wayan for being the happiest and joyful host you could ever imagine. the place is dreamy, breakfast was yummy, Wayan was the best, and really 15/10 would recommend. I will def be coming back here. Everything you could possibly need, want, dream for and more.
I had the most amazing stay at Salt - the communication, the rooms, food and staff were excellent and certainly the best place to stay on Amed. They also recommended Bali Dive Cove for my padi scuba course and they were a fantastic recommendation. All round a beautiful setting and stay where the staff go above and beyond - I will be back, Topaz x
Very understated , you are right in the heart of a Balinese fishing community . There are lounge chairs on the beach and fresh coconuts everyday . A friend said best cooking in Amed for local food . Rent find and mask right there . Lovely family running the place . Great to watch the boaters come and go .
the location was not in the main amed beach. its very dark at night. The staff were "ok". The room was ok, but the bathroom was smelly. its like drain smell if you don't close the basin cover.
There is nothing to do there except for sleeping. There is nothing in the hotel restaurant except for breakfast.
Jaccuzzi is a fairy tale) Stuff is so helpful! Manager Frederic is professional. He definitely can organize whatever comes in your mind) even a driver for your car from Amed to Ubud!!! Cuisine is delightful! Carbonara stole my heart. Juice cocktails are best in whole Bali.
This place is a pearl!
The room was extremely clean and the location is incredible. This place stands out as one of the best hotels on the main street. Also the restaurant food was amazing with really good prices. My room also had a view of Agung Volcano and the beach which was great to wake up to.
Large balcony overlooking the pool, garden & ocean. One of the best showers we've experienced in Bali. Super comfy bed with a mozzie net in a large room. Complementary drinking water. The staff were helpful. Only a short walk down the road to Lipah Beach.
Perfectly big villa with a beautiful pool, quietly placed in near everything, and close to the fantastic beaches in Armed. Wayan took good care of us, and even provided cheap scooter rent and transport to Ubud. Our best stay on Bali this year.
