This was one of our most awaited stays of the trip, and it didn't disappoint. Each of the rooms are unique with features like a patio or an outdoor shower. The property itself is so beautiful. We stayed in Lipah beach, which is about a 40-50min walk from the center of the main Amed strip. The walk is not great and I would recommend hiring a scooter. There are some amazing coffee places and restaurants away from the main beaches and only a short scoot away.
Try Kopi di Tymor (coffee), See You Again Cafe (views and food), Wellness Hub & Spa (massage).
Amed is not too busy (for Bali) with plenty of great small restaurants and bars. The beaches are wonderful and the weather seems to be pretty reliable. Lipah is amazing. Very beautiful in its own little cove.
Snorkeling is the main thing with a few spots for coral and turtles. The beaches are full of boats with people offering to take you around to spots and people renting gear on the beach.

Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area.
Everyone is so friendly. It's a very safe area. Good restaurants and bars. The sea is calm and lovely to swim in. I had a great time in Amed. Rimba and Galanga were my favourite places to eat. There is live music each evening in various bars. Taxi scooters are a cheap and easy way to get to places, and readily available.
The negative thing about Amed is the litter on the beach.

To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali.
To me, Amed is the best beach spot of Bali. Quiet, beautiful snorkeling, amazing nature and rice fields but still a simple laid back vibe. Lots of simple affordable warungs but also new coffee places (that serve meals throughout the day) with Scandinavian look
For snorkeling, we liked Jemeluk best, since it has beautiful corals and fish and a quiet sea.
Riding a scooter is easy and the roads are good.

Amed is a bit no frills in a way.
Amed is a bit no frills in a way. It's a beautiful spot for sure but the beauty is more in the relaxed feel of it and the lack of what makes some of the other places a bit plastic and un-Bali. It's a bit of a diver/backpacker scene and most of the places to eat are smaller-medium warungs, but there is plenty of variety. We are a couple in our 50s (non diving/snorkelling) and we just loved the relaxed calm of it all and the great food.
If you are a snorkeller or diver you'd be in your element here.
It was quiet when we were there ( April - Aussie school hols ) and is probably still quiet generally post covid.
It's cheap too. Maybe not Vietnam cheap for food etc, but your $$ goes a long way.
There's enough to keep you busy around the one beach but it's easy enough to get to other spots via grab. I reckon Jemeluk is the best spot though. It has a greater selection of warungs and little stores.
If you prefer the pristine golden sand experience, Amed may not be your best option but its charm goes very deep.

Beautiful snorkelling and diving.
Beautiful snorkelling and diving. Great small village with good family run Warungs, adequate shops and a decent road that’s quiet by Bali standards. Very friendly locals who arent too pushy like they are in the South.

Right place for adventure type of tourist as it's quite place. My fav place is Virgin Beach that has clean and white sand.
The minus thing is the transportation. No online gojek but you can rent bike for about IDR 60k /day
this is the second time we have stayed here. love the location and the beautiful villa - we booked the same villa each time. Ian dives, so perfect for divers plus they have Bali Reef Divers on site. I can walk in the water and snorkel in front of the hotel or walk about 5 to 10 mins to the next bay = Lipay Bay where the turtles mostly stay. Good restos and warungs nearby. Walking distance to min mart/grocery store. love the Pool and the view is exceptional Sea on one side, jungle and mountains on the other - whats not to love
Best Hotel we stayed at during our Bali trip! The rooms were super clean and beautiful, beds with mosquito nets, comfortable pillows and daily meticulous cleaning of all hotel areas and rooms!
The pool was very nice and well-kept.
Everyone was super friendly and we felt right at home, will definitely come back.
Laundry service, delicious breakfast, great vibes!
Very well located- walking distance to the beach and restaurants and supermarkets but still very quiet.
I honestly can’t think of anything bad :)
Blue Moon Villas over the ocean and are exceptionally beautiful in every way. Traditional Balinese features are all around the beautiful colours of the gardens. The pool overlooks the ocean and the views are amazing. Inside the ocean view villa (Angel 3) the beauty of old Bali is a true rejuvenating experience, with a very comfortable canopy netted bed. The restaurant attached, Komang John serves delicious organic East Bali dishes with the best Dragon Fruit Margarita’s the best!
Highly recommend. 5 stars.
We stayed at Jemeluk Room, which in my opinion has the best view. It has a big balcony facing the beach as our front yard. They have swimming pool but we never swim in that pool since we could jump anytime to the sea in front of our room. If you want snorkelling or diving experience, just ask the staff and they will help you with that. A perfect choice for our 3 nights holiday. Perfect location, good foods, friendly & helpful staffs. Will stay here again for sure when we're back to Amed!
We really enjoyed our stay at Bhuana villas and would totally reccoment them.
The place is beautiful (villas quite big, private and well decorated), with a big swimming pool and walking distance from a great snorkeling spot (perfect in case you don't drive a scooter).
Staff is amazing, and offers services like scooter rental, transportation etc. for honest prices and with genuine care.
We'll definitely stay here again when back to Bali - Amed was our favourite part!
Well appointed 2 bedroom villa with fabulous views over Lipah Bay and the Bali Sea. The infinity pool that looks out over the bay is wonderful. There are 2 good restaurants within 50-60m that look directly over the bay and serve good food and drink. You can go snorkeling directly from the beach and there also outriggers that will sail you to other snorkelling spots and to the ideal spot to watch the sunset over Mt Agung. Will be back again!!😊
The view of Mount Agung from our room was incredible. We were in the quieter part of Amed in Purwakerti, away from the hustle and bustle but still within walking distance to the beach, the convenience store, and eateries. Pak Komang and Ibu Puyu are great hosts. We had an issue with our car and he got it sorted. Nice breakfast. Our gluten-free dairy-free option was delicious Balinese fried rice with fresh fruits and hot tea.
Wayan, Kadek and Nyoman always make us feel like one of their own family, taking care of any of our needs day or night. From the freshest Tropical Fruit and coconuts straight from the trees, to Mahi Mahi delivered to your doorstep we are totally immersed in the Jungle life! Nyoman will take you off the beaten track and show you parts of Bali most will never see, and arrange any travel you need no matter the time.
Small and cosy beach front hotel. Enjoyed swimming directly outfront of hotel. (Not great for snorkelling) but was super easy to arrange a boat and guide to take us snorkelling at 3 other locations. Spectacular view of Mount Agung and morning sunrise. Hotel restaurant offered an amazing variety of food, probably best menu i have seen in a Bali hotel. Every meal was delicious and reasonably priced.
The room and the semi open bathroom is very clean. Small pool but also very clean. Love that they have a little gazebo for me to work. Near some mini markets as well. Most importantly: VERY GOOD FOOD!! Best I’ve had during my 3 weeks stay in Bali. We never even want to try other restaurants but to try all of their menu during our 3 days stay. Would love to come back for the cooking class!
We loved the property, the Villa was very spacious, we had the most amazing breakfast here among of our entire stay in Bali, and we stayed at several places.
We rented a scooter, so it was very easy to find our way around Amed. The location of the Villa was also great, nice restaurants around.
The best part of our stay was the staff of the Villa, they were all amazingly kind and helpful
we loved our time at life in amed! was super nice to be on the beach, we loved walking up and down looking at all the fishing boats as well as snorkeling just off shore. the staff were great, super friendly and helpful. the yoga in the morning was delightful and followed by the banana pancakes was just perfect. also the best tempeh we had in bali! already planning to come back :)
i rate this accommodation highly. It is in a beautiful location with access straight to the beach, no stairs ! The rooms and gardens are well appointed with everything you need. The wifi is fast and free. The breakfast is the best in Bali with plentiful choices and a cool comfortable location. The sea food arrives fresh off the boats daily.
The hotel is located at the beach with the most stunning view for mount Agung, and the most beatiful reef is just 20 meters to the right.
The staff is amazing! They are happy to help with any need. I felt very comfortable :) you can find easily the best cafe Rimba near the hotel, some beautiful local shops and everything you need.
Nice place, room is clean, huge and fresh. Manager and staff is welcoming and helpfull. Pancakes taste is the best of Bali. Location is less than 1 minute to walk to beach, snorkeling spot is awesome (temple in the sea, many fishes). There was 2 fan in the room which is enough for cooling. Wifi was perfect all the time.
Lovely hotel, right on the beach. Super friendly and kind staff. Comfortable bed, good WiFi and clean. Breakfast was great, with good choices. Pet friendly too. Great location with wonderful gardens and pool. A really true Balinese rustic hotel.
A highly recommended place, loved it!!!! Would book again.
Amazing hotel directly by the beach. Just get out of your room walk a few steps and you can snorkel with coral and wild turtles. Also enjoy the delicious breakfast and the company of kindest people you will meet in Bali. Highly recommended. :)
Wonderful location right on the beach. Amed is like the ‘real’ Bali, a traditional fishing village with quite a few villas and catering for tourists. A great diving spot, you can snorkel just off the beach.
Place is good. Good location. Meny ok, breakfast Bali standard I guess. Best place for snorkeling just outside your room.staff very helpful and good and no problem to change room.
Pool also good size
The ocean view front room was amazing - the breakfast was made with love, the cleaning was done with softness - one of
my favourite places in bali - loved the location just in front of snorkelling
