Nice hotel, close to the center, but still on a quiet street. Say 20 minutes walking from railway station. There was a wide choice at breakfast. You can request a kettle to the room. Cleaning was done every day.

It is not very close to the city center, but there is a tram station close to the hotel that leads directly to the center. Szeged is a city in southern Hungary and in the southern part of the Great Hungarian Plain. The river Tisza , which flows into the Danube passes through it . The alley along the river is turned into a beautiful sculptural park. There are impressive buildings and the most stunning of them are the New Synagogue and the secession palaces. The Water Tower was erected in 1904 and had been renovated in 2005-2006. It is surrounded by a small quiet park where one can see the statue of the engineer that had built it. Szeged is rich in elegant squares such as Széchenyi tér ( tér = "square") featuring the neo-baroque town hall, Dugonics tér , Klauzál tér and the most famous Dóm tér with the adjacent Votive Church, The area around the university is lively and attracts a lot of young people. Szeged is not only an architectural jewel but also a centre of cultural events. It is hot in the summer here but fountains, lakes and the river not only refresh the environment but lend a particular charm to the city. Hungarian cuisine is very delicious especially Goulash.
Szeged is situated very closely to the Serbian border and can be a starting point for excursions to other cities in Vojvodina like Novi Sad and Subotica.

The catedral is nice to be visited.
We stayed only for one day, but we enhoyed the time in Szeget.

Szeged is a nice choice for the weekend escape. It is lovely and vibrant town with lovely Art Nouveau architecture. There is an excellent Aqua Park which could be very interesting for both young couples or families with kids.

We stayed for 4 nights in this lovely city. It's a small city with so much history and culture. Architecture was a treat for the eyes. We visited in the spring time and missed botanical gardens and awesome looking aqua park, but it was a great stay none the less.
Make sure to visit tourist center. They are super helpful and have guides on almost all languages, with maps, working hours and all kinds of other information one might need.
There are plenty of things to visit and see. We definitely plan on returning.

Szeged is a beautiful city, enjoyable by adults and small children as well. It contains many beautiful buildings, parks and playgrounds. The old city is quite new - built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries after a disastrous flood in 1879. The city is well know aquapark, but there is another beautiful aquapark in a nearby town of Makó.
We enjoyed coffee, ice cream and desserts in several cafés around the old town. .
We considered also making trips to Serbia and Romania, which are very close to Szeged, but we didn´t make it due to lack of time.

Go for the warmth - highest number of sunshine hours in the country - or the thermal baths and swimming pools. Or the vibrant university life with abundant cultural activities. Great river walks and amazing bird life in the surrounding countryside. Very welcoming people in a family friendly town.
Very clean, nicely furnished, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a small kitchenette perfect for making a coffee or tea and having dinner or breakfast- this if you don’t want to take your breakfast in the small hotel cafe. Parking is available either on street nearby the hotel or at the hotel for a small fee. Perfect place to stay if you go on a fee days city break or just pass through Szeged.
We enjoyed the SPA facilities of the hotel, but also the easy acces to the Aquapark of Szeged which has lot of pools but the construction is quite old and not modernized.
The room was ok, quite large which is a plus. Breakfast and dinner with great variety of meals
We were in transit but this is a hotel where you have to stay many days!!!! Nice, very clean, fantastic beds, free parking. The breakfast is a high standard breakfast, with delicious food! For sure next time will be easy for me to choose a hotel in Szeged!
