Kecskemét is full of Art Nouveau buildings, museums, expecially about painting, history and design. I've been lucky to stay in this city just during a music/folk/theatre festival at the end of August. Moreover, at half hour of car there is the "puszta" of Bugac, with an open air museum of traditional peasant life, included horse shows.

Found the place on booking and chose it for the proximity to Budapest and the it was cheap, but there was a reason for it. The land lady was stropy and demanded cash that wasn’t even reflecting the booking.com price. Booked for £77 the land lady wanted €100. She said I should cancel the reservation and pay her cash but cancellation fee was £85. She spoke no English and her underage grandson was interpreting. The place looked dodgy and feeling unsafe. Ended up bidding good bye this place

Everything is in a walking distance in this charming town. Very friendly people, although hardly anyone speaks English.
The downside is that you can have a meal in a restaurant only until 3 pm, after that most places are closed. Most shops close at 6 pm, so if you plan any shopping do it in the morning.

It is a good place to stop for a day or two at most.
It is a good place to stop for a day or two at most. The main square has some unique and attractive art nouveau architecture. There are a couple of excellent restaurants (Bagatel) and pastry shops (Fodor cukraszda). A day and a half are more than enough to see what the town has to offer. The one of a kind Cifra palota has an exhibit worth seeing, and the park in the centre of the town has pleasant gardens. The Four Points Sheraton Hotel is an excellent place to stay.

The spa is not bad (no thermal water though(, the neighbouring recreational park is nice. There are some interesting museums (photo museum...) and the city center is decent. Will not come across much in terms of food and coffee, but should not worry about eating out either.

A great, really peaceful place laden with hidden gems in the middle of Hungary. The people are super friendly, pop down to the central market early to find anything from fresh flowers to homemade honey and whatever pickled you can think of - truly unbelievable!
We decided to add an extra night to our weekend trip, and decided to stay one night in Kecskemét on our way from Szeged to Budapest.
We found Central Motel on Booking.com, and were very happy with our find. The owner was very friendly and came asap to welcome us at his property. Central Motel offers a large room with comfortable bed, TV, wifi and shower.
Central Motel is just as the name says: very Central, just a stone throw away from Kecskemét's city center; and a Motel offering parking for motorists just next to the property.
Stayed here several times, easy to drive too, large free car park area. It is possible to park in view of your hotel room.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has GoKart hire if required, good view of track races from hotel bar veranda. Hotel menu has good selection, not silly prices either. Bank holidays have a large "flea market" nearby.
A short taxi drive takes you into the centre of Kecskemet, plenty of good eateries and bars.
No problem recommending a stay here.
The first thing that catches your eye is that it is perfectly clean and smells of lavender and freshness. Snow-white linen and towels like in a luxury hotel. A very friendly hostess. The hotel is very warm, comfortable lighting. In general, everything is aimed at a good rest.
The room has everything you need for cooking, pleasant little things in the form of shower gel and shampoo, tea, coffee. We were pleased. And we gladly recommend it!
The accommodation was as per the booking. The friendly receptionist welcomed us, showed us the parking lot, which was large and easy to park.

There is a pool club that can be a bit louder, the club is part of the hotel, but guests who are not staying at the hotel also come.
The hotel was easy to find, it is in the center.
Recommendation for a stay
Great value for money! An interestingly designed hotel, stylish and modern in its furniture and decorations. Even though the room was on the smaller side, it still was very comfortable. The shower in particular was also incredible - very spacious and with loads of functions. The staff were also friendly, and the whole area was perfectly quiet during the night.
We used this hotel for a short one-night stay on a longer business route. It is what you would expect from a Sheraton, but some things are getting old and could need some refurbishment. Big parking lot and a convenient DC EV charger available. It's in their lot, but it's not theirs. You have to pay separately for the charging registering on an app
This spacious apartment in Kecskemét is less than a 5-minute walk from the train station, and a comfortable walk to the city center, making it an ideal location. Plus, it is on a very quiet street, which makes for deep sleeping. Plenty of kitchenware for cooking and dining, and WiFi is really fast. Would return again.
Nice place to spend time when travelling from a to b. Comfortable with everything you ever need from a hotel. Restaurant offers food at the top level. Really something to look forward to, and the price of food is not scary. Parking is safe and protected. So we highly recommend this hotel with its professional staff.

It is a nice hotel, I have been here for the third time. It has an excellent location, it is modern, tidy, convenient. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a good sauna and a fine jacuzzi pool.
Wonderful place with high quality breakfast and paid dinner. Also a pool and a staff that did not charged 90 min. delayed check-out. Definitely a place where one should stay in Kecskemet.
